Adromischus sphenophyllus is a compact, slow-growing succulent shrublet endemic to South Africa’s Eastern Cape, where it nestles among rocky flats and north-facing slopes from Graaff-Reinet to Humansdorp. This species is especially common in the wild compared to its Adromischus relatives and is easily distinguished from the similar Adromischus maculatus by its unmarked, wedge-shaped leaves that taper evenly to the base.

Reaching up to 20 cm tall, Adromischus sphenophyllus forms sparse, upright grey branches up to 2.8 cm thick at the base. Its fleshy, inversely lance-shaped leaves are typically grey-green and can grow up to 7 cm long and 3.5 cm wide. They are smooth and unspotted—traits that set it apart within the genus. The plant's name, derived from Greek, literally means "wedge-shaped leaves," a fitting description of its distinctive foliage.

During mid-summer, it produces dainty, tubular flowers arranged in loose clusters. The blooms feature pale green corolla tubes with possible red tinges and white, lanceolate lobes edged in mauve or pink, each flower measuring around 1.2 cm long. These ornamental displays add seasonal interest to its tidy, sculptural form.

In cultivation, Adromischus sphenophyllus thrives in bright, indirect light or full sun, making it suitable for sunny windowsills or sheltered patios. It prefers well-drained, gritty soil and benefits from a dry, frost-free winter rest. In Australia, it is best grown in regions with mild winters (above 1 °C) or moved under cover during cold snaps. This unusual yet understated species is perfect for collectors seeking structure, texture, and resilience in a succulent collection.

I think they’re worth a try…
Size: X-Large, Color: Bluish Blue/White Stripe
Final determination will take a few months of wearing the shirts. First impressions, 1. styling is great. They look good. 2. When you l wash them, I suggest drying them all the way. They seem to wrinkle easier than other shirts I have. 3. Moisture wicking: on the few days where the weather has been warm, the shirt's seem to absorb the moisture from heat. 4. Fit: From my perspective I think the shirts are more of an athletic or modern fit, meaning a little more snug compared to other XL shirts I wear from Peter Millar or Footjoy or Fairway and Greene. I have broader shoulders. Quality: so far they seem ok. I’ve notice on a couple of shirts I needed to cut or trim loose threads from manufacturing process. The fabric seems good with a decent amount of stretch built into the design. Pricing: when you shop for big name brand golf shirts you pay a premium so these shirts, at around $30 a shirt, seem worth a try…I bought 5 different shirts so I’m hoping they prove to be worth it…

Comfortable and stylish
Size: X-Large, Color: Dark Blue Stripe
The shirt fits, stretches, doesn't wrinkle, and most importantly to me for a moisture wicking shirt, doesn't easily catch on things you brush up against and get little pulls in the fabric.
