How rare is this card in this grade? Although we can't consider any Pro Set card "rare" due to the sheer volume Pro Set printed in 1991, this card from this Pro Set Yo! MTV Raps Series 2 Update set still stands out. So then, why can't I just buy a sealed box, rip it open and expect to get a PSA 10 on my "pack fresh" card? It's not as easy as we would all think. Throughout the years people have PSA graded over 2,500 cards from the Pro Set series 1 & 2 Yo! MTV Raps sets. To date, 141 of those cards were of this key card of the Beastie Boys #102. (Cards #102 and #103 of the Beastie Boys are widely considered the 2 key cards of this set). Of those 141, #102 cards graded, only 11 of them have ever been graded a PSA 10, and the other 130 were lesser grades. This is mostly due to the left (front) edge of the card being cut with what appears to be, less than a sharpened blade at time of production. The left edge of this card is typically rough, and chippy compared to the other 3 edges and will most often make it into a lesser PSA grade, even when fresh from the pack.
