UAFX 2.0 Firmware Update is here - Unlock full MIDI control over USB with your MIDI controller. (Detailed guide available here)
Authentic Analog-style Echo — No Tape Required
The Universal Audio Galaxy ’74 Tape Echo & Reverb pedal is an expertly crafted emulation of a lauded ‘70s-era Japanese tape reverb/delay unit, with an all-encompassing slew of upgrades that arguably make it an upgrade over the vintage original. Every nuance of the original’s wow, flutter, and gritty preamp are perfectly replicated, offering full modeling of the multi-head tape delay mechanism, tap tempo, and twice the repeat time. This results in an exceptionally warm, rich analog repeat with rhythmic possibilities that were simply impossible on the original unit. And while the ’74 Tape Echo sports a robust control section to dial in your sound, a quick flip of the Alt switch unlocks secondary functions on the bottom three knobs to further tweak your tone. Finally, pairing your Galaxy ’74 with the UAFX Control app allows you to swap the footswitch functions between Effects/Performance mode and Delay/Reverb mode, unlocking everything from feedback swells to echo rate ramps to bog-standard bypass options.
- Stereo reverb and delay pedal that perfectly emulates a legendary Japanese tape echo unit from the ’70s
- UAFX dual-engine processing delivers the highest level of sonic authenticity
- Runs separate stereo instances of the reverb and delay sides for maximum depth and atmosphere
- Delay side contains all the wow, flutter, and preamp grit of the original unit for an exceptionally character-packed echo sound
- 3-position Head Select switch and tape age knob for a true-to-tape echo experience
- Delay time is double the original unit, allowing for rhythmic divisions simply impossible on the vintage version
- Spring-style reverb adds a cascading splash to your tone for a touch of extra atmosphere
- Versatile tone-shaping options, with secondary functions available by flipping the Main/Alt switch
- Optional UAFX Control app allows you to configure your footswitch controls, adjust real-time effects, and customize how your pedal’s distinct oscillation sounds
- Utility features include silent switching, buffered bypass, analog dry through, switchable trails mode, and stereo/dual mono operation
