Three men were heading to Tochigi, the site of the battle. They are Mamoru Kaneshiro, Yusuke Makishima, and Shin Tadokoro, who won the Inter-High last year as members of the Sohoku High School Cycling Team. They had come together to support the new Sohoku team. As they drove away, the three looked back on last year's competition and were filled with anticipation for the new team. The Sohoku High School Cycling Team, including Sakamichi Onoda, who became the ace climber of the current team despite being a beginner who started road racing in high school, and new captain Junta Teshima. Their road to the Inter-High competition has not been a smooth one. They had to say goodbye to their seniors who had trusted and supported them. They have inherited the team's spirit of "all members supporting each other. They had to fight hard not only with other schools but also with their teammates to make it to the Inter-High....Overcoming these obstacles, they run in the scorching heat to reach the top of the Inter-High School, where the best teams from all over the country gather! Here is the story of the beginning of a new generation!
