Delicious. No garden is complete without Red Leaf Lettuce. Lolla Rosa is a wonderful heirloom variety with good old-fashioned taste. Crunchy red outer leaves, dark green heart, vigorous are just a few of the words that describe Lolla Rosa Red Leaf Lettuce. Lolla Rosa Open Pollinated Leaf Lettuce is an Italian Leaf Lettuce especially good for garnishing. Lolla Rosa has heavily frilled dark green leaves tipped with red. Lolla Rosa has a mild flavor and will form a loose head if planted 10" apart. This early variety of heirloom leaf lettuce is sweet, crisp and tender. Loose leaf lettuce re-sprouts from a cut stem without losing quality in flavor or texture. The heavily notched, wavy leaves are deep red in color. Harvest Lolla Rosa Red Lettuce at any stage of growth. Fully mature at 45 days. Seeds can be sown directly into garden when soil is warm or started in containers and transplanted. This can be grown nicely in containers and clay pots.
