The THIRDREALITY Smart Soil Moisture Sensor is a Zigbee 3.0 soil moisture sensor that provides accurate measurements for optimal plant care. This capacitive sensor measures both soil moisture and temperature and runs for up to 2 years on a single AA battery.
Plant sensor properties
The sensor uses capacitive technology instead of traditional probes, making it less sensitive to soil salinity and pH levels. Measuring 18 x 2.5 x 2.5 cm and with a 10 cm long probe, it is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Its IP67 rating ensures complete protection against dust and water.
The device reports real-time data to your smart home system every 5 minutes and automatically sends alerts when your plants need watering. The temperature measurement is accurate to ±1.5°C, and the humidity measurement is accurate to ±3%.
Compatibility and integration
- Home Assistant support is excellent via both ZHA and Zigbee2MQTT, with all features fully available
- Works seamlessly with Homey via the official Third Reality app
- Optional integration with Apple Home and Google Home via Smart Bridge MZ1

The sensor works perfectly with the Sonoff SWV-BSPSonoff SWV-BSP Zigbee irrigation computer and THIRDREALITY Smart Watering Kit for fully automated plant care.
Please note : A Zigbee hub is required for optimal operation, and the device is not compatible with Apple Home and Google Home without an additional bridge.
