Philodendron 'Golden Dragon' – Rare Hybrid with Dragon-Like Foliage
Philodendron 'Golden Dragon', also known as 'Lime Fiddle', is an unusual hybrid believed to have originated in Thailand, most likely related to Philodendron bipennifolium. Its deeply lobed, dragon-shaped foliage and occasional golden variegation make it a standout among collectors. With fast growth and exotic appeal, this plant is a must-have for anyone seeking to expand their Philodendron collection.
Key Features
- Unique foliage: Deeply lobed, pinnate leaves with dragon-like form and occasional golden splashes
- Fast growth: Vigorous and quick to establish in the right conditions
- Hybrid origin: Bred in Thailand, with P. bipennifolium thought to be one parent species
- Collector appeal: Highly sought-after for its distinctive leaf shape and exotic character
Care Guide for Philodendron 'Golden Dragon'
- Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light; avoid harsh direct sun that scorches leaves
- Watering: Keep soil evenly moist but never waterlogged; allow the top layer to dry slightly
- Humidity: Enjoys high humidity but tolerates normal indoor levels; add a humidifier in dry climates
- Temperature: Ideal range is 18 – 27 °C; protect from drafts and heating vents
- Soil: Airy, well-draining mix with perlite and orchid bark for healthy roots
- Fertiliser: Use a balanced liquid feed every 4 – 6 weeks throughout the growing season
Common Issues and Fixes
- Yellowing leaves: Usually from overwatering or poor drainage; let soil dry slightly before watering again
- Drooping foliage: A sign of underwatering or low humidity; increase watering frequency and boost air moisture
- Pests: Watch for mites, mealybugs, or fungus gnats; treat with neem oil, insecticidal soap, or biological controls
- Root rot: Avoid waterlogged soil; prune affected roots and repot in a fresh, well-draining mix
Additional Growing Tips
- Placement: Choose a bright, filtered-light location away from direct sun
- Support: Provide a moss pole or stake to encourage upright growth and larger leaves
- Pruning: Trim leggy growth and remove yellow leaves to maintain a compact, bushy form
Etymology
The genus name Philodendron comes from Greek: philo (“loving”) and dendron (“tree”), describing its climbing nature. The cultivar name 'Golden Dragon' refers to its dragon-like lobed leaves and occasional golden colouration on the foliage.

Comfortable, Supportive, and Sleeps Cool
Item Firmness Description: Medium Firm, Item Thickness: 10.0 Inches, Size: Queen (U.S. Standard)
This queen mattress is very comfortable and offers a great balance of softness and support. It is medium-firm and works well for relieving pressure on the back, shoulders, and hips while still feeling supportive throughout the night. The cooling feature helps keep the mattress comfortable and fresh, especially for warmer sleepers. It arrived neatly packed in a box and expanded quickly after opening with very little odor. I also appreciate that it’s certified, which gives extra peace of mind about the materials. Overall, a high-quality mattress that delivers great comfort and value for the price.

Amazing mattress
Item Firmness Description: Medium Firm, Item Thickness: 12.0 Inches, Size: Queen (U.S. Standard), Item Firmness Description: Medium Firm, Item Thickness: 12.0 Inches, Size: Queen (U.S. Standard)
I’m really happy with this mattress! From the first night, it felt super comfortable and supportive. It has the perfect medium-firm feel, not too hard and not too soft, which makes it great for a good night’s sleep.
The memory foam adapts really well to my body and helps relieve pressure, especially on my back and hips. I wake up feeling much more rested and without soreness.
I also love that it has a cooling effect. I usually get warm while sleeping, but this mattress stays comfortable throughout the night.
Another great thing is that it doesn’t transfer movement, so if you share the bed, you won’t feel the other person moving around.
Overall, this mattress exceeded my expectations. It’s comfortable, supportive, and feels like great quality for the price. I would definitely recommend it!

Item Firmness Description: Medium Firm, Item Thickness: 12.0 Inches, Size: King
The firmness is great. Sleeps so good. Keeps us cool and forms to our bodies. I just hope it holds up for a few years. I have the 12 inch and my daughter that is 100lbs has the 10 inch we’ll see if this was as good of a buy as I think it is. Feels good and soft to the touch. I recommend this to anyone before you spend 2000.00 on a bed try this one it so very worth the money.

Couch yes. Sleep, no
Item Firmness Description: Medium Firm, Item Thickness: 6.0 Inches, Size: Twin
I bought it for a daybed in the livingroom as a couch. It’s firm, but conforms to you(memory foam). Sitting is comfortable, however if I lay down it’s too hard. I can set a plate of food down next to me and it won’t move. So perfect for a couch, I wouldn’t be able to sleep on it

I’ve been sleeping on the EGOHOME 8 Inch Memory Foam Mattress in Queen size for a little while now, and I’m honestly very happy with it. The Queen size fits perfectly and gives plenty of space while still feeling super cozy.
The mattress has a really comfortable medium-firm feel — supportive but still soft enough to relax into after a long day. I also noticed the cooling gel foam helps prevent overheating at night, which makes sleep much more comfortable.
It arrived compressed in a box and expanded quickly without any issues. The quality feels great for the price, and there was very little odor after opening.
Overall, this mattress gives great support, relieves pressure nicely, and has definitely improved my sleep quality. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a comfortable Queen mattress!
