Crassula ovata ‘Hobbit’ – Quirky Fantasy Jade | Unique Tubular-Leaved Succulent
Step into a world of garden magic with Crassula ovata ‘Hobbit’, a whimsical twist on the classic jade plant. Beloved for its unusual tubular leaves that curl inward like tiny green trumpets, this charming succulent adds character, texture, and a touch of fantasy to any plant collection.
Over time, ‘Hobbit’ forms a sculptural, bonsai-like trunk—perfect for imaginative displays, themed gardens, or as a living art piece. Under bright sunlight, its leaf tips blush a captivating red, giving it even more personality.
Why Plant Lovers Adore the ‘Hobbit’ Jade:
- Unique Leaf Shape – Thick, glossy, tubular leaves with curled edges for an eye-catching, otherworldly look.
- Bonsai Potential – Develops into a miniature tree with age, ideal for pots and desk displays.
- Sun-Kissed Accents – Bright light brings out striking red tips for added colour contrast.
- Easy-Care Wonder – Thrives on minimal water and loves well-draining soil.
- Perfect for Fantasy Displays – A natural fit for fairy gardens, themed planters, and whimsical décor.
Care Guide:
- Light: Bright indirect sun or gentle morning light; avoid harsh afternoon scorch.
- Water: Let soil dry completely between waterings—overwatering can harm roots.
- Soil: Use a gritty, well-draining succulent or cactus mix.
- Temperature: Warm, frost-free conditions are best—bring indoors during cold months.
- Feeding: Lightly fertilise in spring and summer for stronger growth.
- Propagation: Easily grown from stem or leaf cuttings to share with friends.
Whether you’re creating a fantasy-themed garden, styling a bonsai display, or simply adding personality to your home, Crassula ‘Hobbit’ is a delightful, long-lived companion that brings a little magic to everyday spaces.
The Last two photos serves a display purpose only. The succulent plant housed in the red pot comes in a 130mm diameter container. While the image provides a representative depiction of what you will receive, but may vary slightly because no two succulents are the same.
