🌞 Light & Placement
Prefers bright, indirect light. Tolerates partial shade but grows best near east or west-facing windows. Avoid intense midday sun to prevent leaf stress.
💧 Water & Humidity
Allow the top layer of soil to dry between waterings. Water thoroughly and ensure excess drains away. Benefits from moderate humidity—mist occasionally in dry indoor air.
🪴 Soil & Potting
Use a well-aerated potting mix for indoor trees. Repot every 2–3 years in a slightly larger pot to support root growth. Good drainage is key to prevent root rot.
🐾 Toxicity & Safety
Not safe for pets. Keep out of reach of curious cats and dogs.
🌱 Growth & Propagation
Can grow up to 2–3 meters indoors with time. Prune to maintain shape. Propagation is possible via stem cuttings, though slower to root than other ficus species.
📆 Seasonal & Special Care
May shed a few leaves after repotting or relocation. Keep it away from drafts and cold air. Maintain indoor temps above 16°C for optimal health.
🐛 Common Issues
Watch for scale or spider mites, especially in low humidity. Drooping or yellowing leaves can indicate overwatering or low light levels.
🧬 Botanical Background
