In this hands-on workshop on Father's Day, you'll design and build your own bioactive terrarium from scratch and take home your miniature ecosystem that's as much living art as it is a labor of love. Working with a 10″ × 10″ enclosed terrarium, you'll layer substrate, arrange plants and moss, tuck in crystals and figurines, and, if you're feeling adventurous, introduce a cleanup crew of springtails and isopods to keep your little world thriving long after you take it home.
Sign up solo, with a friend, or make it a day with Dad. All are welcome. No experience needed. Our staff horticulturist will walk you through every step, from choosing your plants to understanding why those tiny critters are actually the best thing that could happen to your terrarium.

Why do we have multiple pricing options?
Community workshops are for you, our community! We offer a limited number of tickets for most workshops at a reduced rate. Please choose the price that best honors where you’re at. If you are able to pay at the suggested level or higher, it helps keep our workshops on a sliding scale for those who can contribute at a different scale.
Policies:
No refunds are available for workshop registration.
If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your ticket to a friend. To do this, please email [email protected] with the subject line “Ticket Transfer: [Name of Workshop]” using the same email address that was provided at registration. Include the full name & email address of the person who you would like to transfer your ticket to. We’ll take it from there!
If you provide 7 days' notice and we are able to fill your spot, we may be able to issue a credit toward a future workshop.
In the event a class is cancelled or rescheduled due to inclement weather, increases in local Covid cases, changes to local Covid guidance, positive Covid cases on our staff, or other Act of God, you will receive a credit to take another class at a later date (in-person or virtual).
