Crazy-hardy and super-showy, Wild Bergamot (Monarda fistulosa) a.k.a. Bee Balm is a herbaceous perennial native to North America's wild west. Its lavender-to-rose-hued flowers are accompanied by pungent, minty leaves that infuse any garden with vibrant beauty and a scent that'll make your taste buds sit up and take notice. Cut it for show-stopping bouquets, then get creative in the kitchen with its tea-tastic flavor. Sowing is a breeze—just sprinkle those seeds, give them a shallow finger-tamp, and keep 'em moist 'til they germinate (1-3 weeks). Then thin or transplant into one-foot-apart beds of flavor and beauty.
