Origin

The Philodendron Florida Beauty is a popular hybrid with strong variegated markings, while Philodendron polypodioides known for its almost fern-like, deeply divided leaf texture. This cross was created from selective breeding and is only offered in limited numbers, making it extra special within any collection.

Features

The leaves of this hybrid have an unusual shape: they are narrow, strongly indented and can grow surprisingly long. The variety ranges from bright cream to lime green, often in a marbled or mottled pattern. As the plant ages, the leaves develop an increasingly pronounced silhouette. The stems are sturdy, with subtle red highlights at the leaf base, a nice nod to the Florida Beauty-side.

Care

Place this plant in a bright spot, but out of direct sun to prevent leaf burn. An airy mix of peat, perlite and bark provides proper drainage and aeration. Keep the soil slightly moist and do not re-water until the top layer has dried out. This hybrid likes to climb, so a moss pole or vertical support helps it develop larger and more defined leaves.
