Nicotiana also known as flowering tobacco is a wonderfully fragrant addition to your garden. Plants get up to 3 feet tall and produce clusters of tubular shaped flowers. They are quite fragrant, and when planted together in a large mass, will fill your garden with its floral scent. The white color of these flowers stand out in the garden during the eveing and night. They grow best in full sun and well draining soil. 

In Florida, I recommend to start seeds in September thru December so that it will grow during fall, winter, and spring. The goal is to make sure they start flowering before summer comes. These plants will still bloom thru our hot/rainy summers but they are easily susceptible to leaf and root rot if exposed to too much rain. Try to plant in an area with well draining soil and lots of open air flow.

PLANTING
Germination: 10-21 days

Seed Sowing Depth: The seeds are very small. Gently press the seeds on the soil surface and do not cover with soil. 

Sowing: Can direct sow after the last frost, or start in pots 4-6 weeks before the last frost.
