The species originally grows in the mountain forests of Antioquia and Chocó in Colombia at altitudes around 1,000 meters. As an epiphyte, it forms rhizomes to cling to a branch in trees. The inflorescence consists of a green spathe and a white-pink spadix. After pollination, the flowers are followed by white-green berries containing one or two seeds. Due to its high-altitude origins, the plant is naturally accustomed to relatively cool temperatures. The optimal growth temperature is between 20 and 25 degrees C and minimum humidity around 50%. This makes this Anthurium a rather suitable houseplant compared to other species. Provide very well-drained soil with organic matter, such as tree bark and sphagnum moss. Water regularly, but avoid keeping the roots too moist. Also, provide a bright location without direct sunlight.
