Thule Spring 2: Compact All-Terrain Pushchair with From-Birth Bassinet Compatibility

Discover the NEW Thule Spring 2—the evolution of Thule's acclaimed compact pushchair, now with game-changing bassinet compatibility. This versatile three-wheeled stroller combines genuine all-terrain capability with a space-saving fold that's 30% smaller than traditional three-wheel designs, whilst the revolutionary bassinet adapter transforms it into a complete from-birth travel system.

Available in Four Sophisticated Colours:

  • Black on Black - Sleek, timeless urban sophistication
  • Mid Blue on Black - Contemporary Scandinavian styling
  • Mist Green on Black - Fresh, modern earth tone
  • Soft Beige - Warm, elegant neutral

The Game-Changing Spring 2 Innovation: Bassinet Compatibility

The most significant advancement in the Spring 2 is its new compatibility with the Thule Bassinet (sold separately, using bassinet adapter). This transforms the Spring 2 from a 6-month+ pushchair into a complete from-birth travel system, combining the versatility of a compact stroller with the comfort and safety of a full-sized bassinet.

This breakthrough means urban families no longer need to choose between compact everyday convenience and proper newborn accommodation. The Spring 2 now offers both: a spacious, lie-flat bassinet for those precious early months, then transitions seamlessly to the comfortable seat unit as your baby grows.

Compact Excellence: 30% Smaller Than Traditional Three-Wheels

At the heart of the Spring 2's appeal is its revolutionary 3D fold mechanism. The rear wheels tuck inward during folding, creating a remarkably compact package (75 x 45 x 39 cm when folded) that's significantly smaller than traditional three-wheeled all-terrain pushchairs. This space-saving design proves invaluable for:

  • Small Car Boots - Fits comfortably alongside shopping and family luggage
  • Narrow Hallways - The self-standing folded pushchair stores neatly without dominating space
  • Public Transport - Manageable size for buses, trains, and crowded urban environments
  • Travel - Compatible with travel bags for easy transport on holidays

Despite the compact fold, the Spring 2 provides generous seating space and a proper 64 cm door pass-through width for practical manoeuvrability.

Lightweight Yet Robust: 10.8 kg Swedish Engineering

Weighing just 10.8 kg, the Spring 2 achieves an impressive balance between portability and durability. The aluminium frame with steel and plastic components feels reassuringly robust during use whilst remaining light enough for comfortable lifting into car boots, up stairs, or onto public transport. Parents consistently praise how the pushchair's solid construction inspires confidence without the bulk and weight of larger alternatives.

One-Handed Quick Fold with Self-Standing

The intuitive one-handed fold mechanism activates via a handle beneath the seat. A stiff flap lifts to reveal the sliding lever, conveniently positioned for either left or right-handed operation. The entire folding process takes seconds - genuinely achievable whilst holding a child - and the self-standing capability means the folded pushchair stands independently without propping.

This practical feature proves genuinely valuable during daily life: quick shop visits, loading the car, or storing in tight spaces all benefit from the effortless fold-and-stand system.

Enhanced All-Terrain Performance

The Spring 2 introduces significant improvements over the original Spring, particularly in ride quality and terrain capability. The updated soft foam-filled 8.5" wheels now feature enhanced suspension on the swivelling front wheel, delivering noticeably smoother performance across varied surfaces.

The maintenance-free foam-filled tyres eliminate puncture concerns whilst providing sufficient cushioning for comfortable rides across pavements, grass, gravel, and light woodland paths. The front wheel swivels freely for urban manoeuvrability, then locks into a fixed position for stability on rougher terrain or during faster-paced walking.

Whilst not designed for serious trail running like the Urban Glide range, the Spring 2 confidently handles the varied terrain typical of urban family life: park paths, cobblestones, uneven pavements, kerbs, and light off-road surfaces.

Superior Child Comfort

The Spring 2 prioritises passenger comfort with thoughtful design throughout. The built-in leg rest provides proper support from knees to feet, preventing uncomfortable dangling and promoting better circulation during longer outings. The well-padded seat with its suspended design helps absorb bumps and vibrations, creating a smoother ride experience.

The reclining seat offers multiple positions via a simple drawstring mechanism, allowing comfortable napping or alert observation. Whilst not achieving complete lie-flat (the seat is designed for 6 months+), the deep recline provides comfortable sleeping positions for tired toddlers. The spacious seat accommodates children from 6 months to 22 kg, providing years of comfortable use.

The secure five-point harness features padded shoulder straps that adjust for height and width without rethreading—simply slide the straps to the desired position, making adjustments quick and frustration-free.

Exceptional Canopy System

The large, extendable canopy with UPF 50+ ripstop fabric provides comprehensive sun protection, shielding your child from harmful UV rays even when the sun is low. The integrated extension expands coverage when needed, whilst the ventilated peek-a-boo window with see-through mesh allows discrete checks on sleeping children without disturbing them.

The sturdy, refined canopy fabrics provide durability and a sophisticated appearance whilst the ventilation system ensures airflow during warm weather, preventing overheating during summer outings.

Ergonomic One-Hand Adjustable Handlebar

The telescopic handlebar adjusts with one hand via a squeeze button, accommodating parents from approximately 5'7" to 6'4" comfortably. This thoughtful feature means couples with height differences can push comfortably without compromise, and the improved grip provides secure, comfortable handling during extended outings.

Practical Storage Solutions

The spacious underseat basket provides ample room for changing bags, shopping, and daily essentials, with easy access from multiple angles. A sizeable mesh pocket at the seat back offers quick access to phones, keys, and small items, keeping frequently needed items within immediate reach.

From Birth Travel System Capability

The Spring 2's compatibility with the Thule Bassinet (with adapter, both sold separately) creates a complete from-birth travel system. Additionally, car seat adaptors for Maxi-Cosi and Chicco brands (sold separately) allow you to attach compatible infant car seats, creating flexible transportation solutions for newborns.

This versatility means you invest in one pushchair chassis that accommodates:

  • Bassinet use from birth to approximately 6 months
  • Infant car seat attachment for convenient car-to-pushchair transitions
  • Main seat unit from 6 months to 22 kg

Swedish Testing & Quality Assurance

Rigorously tested at the Thule Test Center in Hillerstorp, Sweden, the Spring 2 undergoes durability testing, stability evaluation, impact force simulation, and rough terrain assessment. All materials are free from harmful substances, ensuring safe use with newborns and young children. The Spring 2 meets and exceeds applicable safety standards, providing parents with confidence in their investment.

The Verdict

The Thule Spring 2 represents a significant evolution of an already excellent compact pushchair. The addition of bassinet compatibility transforms it from a 6-month+ option into a complete newborn-to-toddler travel system, eliminating the need for separate pram solutions during those crucial early months.

For urban families who value compact storage without compromising on quality, features, or all-terrain capability, the Spring 2 delivers exceptional value. The 30% size reduction compared to traditional three-wheelers makes genuine practical differences in daily life: easier car boot storage, more manageable public transport journeys, and convenient home storage in hallways or cupboards.

The Swedish engineering, quality materials, and thoughtful design details justify the investment, whilst the accessible £448.99 price point (before accessories) makes premium Thule quality attainable for more families. The four colour options allow personalisation to suit individual tastes, from classic Black to contemporary Mid Blue, fresh Mist Green, or elegant Soft Beige.

Good but more academic
Format: Hardcover
I love Brant Pitre, especially his books Jesus and the Jewish Roots of the Eucharist and Jesus the Bridegroom. I would say those books should be required reading for anyone who is catechist or is involved in RCIA as Catholics. This book is good, however it is primarily an academic work where Dr. Pitre takes on the Historical Jesus movement and Dr. Bart Ehrman in particular. In this book he goes on to show that the gospels were written within a few decades of Jesus death by the disciples that have given their names to the gospels. He uses his knowledge of Jewish faith and culture to show that Jesus really does claim to be God in all the gospels, not just the Gospel of John. It is a good book but not one that I would find useful on a regular basis.

BEST BOOK IN 20 YEARS
Format: Hardcover
BEST BOOK that I have read in 20 years. This should be required reading in Christian schools. Every Christian who has graduated from high school should read this book. As one who has studied Church History, Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek myself, I had become very disappointed in what passes as scholarship, even among Ivy Leage graduates, in the 21st century. HOWEVER, Dr. Pitre's book is a great encouragement that there really are people "out-there" that display genuine scholarship. With Appreciation, Russ Hills, Ph.D.

A Case for Jesus' Divine Self-Conception
Format: Kindle
This is a very meticulously reasoned argument attempting to show that Jesus had a Divine self-conception. That is, Jesus believed, and claimed, that he was God. Pitre begins by posing C.S. Lewis’ famous “trilemma” to the reader. If Jesus claimed to be God, we have three ways to respond – he was either a Liar, Lunatic, or Lord. Pitre’s work in this book strives to bring us back, face to face, with this trilemma. To accomplish this, Pitre needs to defeat another popular notion in the modern mind – that Jesus, or at least much of the Gospel material about him, was a “Legend.” If Pitre can show that Jesus did, in fact, historically claim Divinity, we will be forced to respond to his claim and answer Jesus’ own question for ourselves – “Who do you say that I am?” To accomplish this Pitre first attempts to show that the Gospels are historically reliable. He believes that, contrary to modern scholarly opinion, the Gospels were indeed written by the authors they have been attributed to (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), that they were intended to portray historically accurate biographical pictures of Jesus, and that they were written much more closely to the time of Jesus than liberal scholars assume (Pitre tentatively dates the synoptic Gospels all before the destruction of the Temple in AD 70). These three pieces of evidence – authorship, intent, and dating – all lead Pitre to the conclusion that the Gospels give us historically accurate information about Jesus. After setting the stage by arguing for the accuracy of our sources, Pitre delves into the synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark, and Luke) and tries to show that although it is not always explicit (i.e. Jesus doesn’t say “I am God, worship Me.”) even the synoptics portray Jesus as claiming Divinity. Using evidence such as Jesus’ use of the titles “Son of Man” and “I Am,” prophesy from the book of Daniel, Jesus’ “stilling of the storm,” the transfiguration, the pronouncement of the forgiveness of the parlytic’s sins, the riddle about the Son of David being David’s “Lord,”, the crucifixion, and the resurrection, Pitre makes his case. In the end, he believes that not only do the Gospel authors portray Jesus as Divine, but that these claims came from Jesus himself. Thus we are led, full circle, back to the trilemma. We can call Jesus Liar, Lunatic, or Lord, but not, according to Pitre, a Legend. This was a really interesting read from a conservative scholar. His exegesis of many Gospel passages illuminate how the Hebrew Scriptures provide a much needed backdrop for understanding each story. The Gospels are much more nuanced than we might first think and oftentimes one saying or image may evoke whole passages or concepts from the Old Testament that would have been apparent to early Jewish readers. As Pitre argues, understanding the Jewish context of the synoptic authors helps in understanding their Christology. In the end, I agree with Pitre that the Gospels are generally more historically accurate than “mainstream” scholars give them credit for. I think it’s plausible that the Gospel titles reveal their true authors and that they were written fairly early after Jesus’ death (before the fall of Jerusalem). I also agree that the Synoptics may implicitly ascribe Divinity to Jesus – although I don’t think that is an open and shut case. If there were more explicit cases in the synoptic Gospels where Jesus claimed Divinity, it would help his case. It still seems to me the only explicit sayings we have come from the Gospel of John, which even Pitre doesn’t seem to argue is historically reliable (at least he doesn’t focus on this in the book). It’s probably outside the scope of this book, but I would have loved to see Pitre address the idea of Jesus as Apocalyptic Prophet. He interacts with several scholars who accept this notion (EP Sanders, Dale Allison, Bart Ehrman, John Meier) and it’s a viable option in the world of Historical Jesus scholarship. I think it’s a relevant topic in all discussions surrounding a Historical Jesus and can be a large factor in how one answers the question of Jesus’ identity. This study is worth reading regardless of your theological persuasion, and Pitre’s arguments deserve serious consideration.

Relief for dry mouth without gum irritation
Big improvement for users with sensitive gums. These relieve dry mouth during the night almost as well as the regular tabs. Some complained about a residual gel left on the gums. 🙄Just wipe it off. It’s a small thing.
