Tradescantia sillamontana 'Gold Stripes' is a wild and crazily variegated form of the dryland, succulent spiderwort, which hails from the northern Mexican State of Nuevo León. Although typically used in hanging baskets and summer containers, an in-ground planting of Tradescantia 'Gold Stripes' makes a superb groundcover, forming a 15" tall x 3' wide, dense patch of silvery-haired foliage, layered with irregular creamy stripes.
