All you need to cook for two on the trail
Building a complete cook set for camping and backpacking adventures can be tricky and time-consuming, especially if you want minimum weight and maximum packability. Will that mug nest inside that pot? Does that pan fit on top? Will it rattle around when you stow it all away in your rucksack? With their best-selling Pinnacle Backpacker set, GSI have made things easy. This is a complete cooking and eating set-up for two, meticulously designed to offer total versatility and top-quality performance plus ultimate space efficiency. It starts with the 2-litre pot. Made from hard-anodised aluminium, then treated with stick-free, PFOA-free Teflon with Radiance Technology, it heats incredibly efficiently and cleans up really easily. Super durable, the finish lasts – even if you use metal utensils – and reaches temperature 25% faster than traditional non-stick coatings. The pot’s strainer lid makes draining easy, the BPA-free mugs have insulated sleeves and spill-resistant sip-through lids, the two large bowls are great for soups and porridge, and the storage sack even doubles as a sink. Best of all, everything nests together beautifully. If only all the other kit in your pack was this neat and tidy.

The best outdoor gear is stuff that solves a problem – like how to cook on the trail, in all weather. And if a piece of kit solves a particular problem in a unique and effective way, then all the better. GSI Outdoors is a US brand that understands this intimately. It embodies their entire approach to manufacturing outdoor gear. In fact, the clue is even in the name: those three initials, GSI, stand for Gear Solutions and Innovations.
Established back in 1985 and now based in Spokane, Washington, in the heart of the rugged Pacific Northwest, the company is still family-owned. But its passion for great food in the great outdoors is unwavering, even after three decades. The result is a superb range of lightweight cooking equipment designed for backpackers and wild campers. Because nothing sustains your adventures like a hot meal. Besides, as we all know, food always tastes better when cooked and eaten outside.
