This listing is for one bunch of broomcorn seed heads, approximately 12-14 stalks. They measure 20-24" long and are a beautiful variety of fall colors. These broomcorn seed heads were grown here on our NE Ohio farm and harvested this year (2025).
Broomcorn is a type of sorghum (Sorghum vulgare var. technicum) that is grown specifically for its stiff, durable fibers, which are used to make brooms and brushes. Broomcorn has long, tough seed branches (panicles) that are ideal for sweeping.
Broomcorn's natural colors and textures make it ideal for earthy, rustic fall décor, and its versatility allows for endless creativity in seasonal displays.
Fall Vase Arrangements: Place long stalks of broomcorn in a tall floor vase for a simple, minimalist look. The natural texture of broomcorn makes a statement on its own, especially when paired with rustic décor. Use broomcorn seed heads alongside other dried grasses, cattails, and branches in a decorative vase. This works well as a seasonal entryway piece or for a table centerpiece.
Harvest Wreaths: Create a simple wreath using broomcorn seed heads by tying small bundles of broomcorn onto a wire or grapevine base. Add embellishments like pinecones, mini pumpkins, dried oranges, and cinnamon sticks for a fragrant and autumnal touch.
Broomcorn Basket: Fill a wicker basket with broomcorn seed heads, mini pumpkins, gourds, pinecones, and autumn leaves. Set it on your porch or inside as a harvest-themed accent piece.
Broomcorn Bunches: Bundle broomcorn seed heads and tie them with burlap or fall-colored ribbon, then place them on either side of your front door or around a porch rail. The tall, rustic look adds to a fall harvest theme when combined with pumpkins and hay bales.
Thanksgiving Table Accents: Use small bundles of broomcorn as part of your place settings or place broomcorn in a vase as your centerpiece. This adds a rustic and natural element to a Thanksgiving table setting.
