Description
Unlike most contemporary Western pruning shears and secateurs, traditional Japanese pruning shears have a one-piece forged handle and blade, which uses soft iron or mild steel for the handle and a forge welded layer of high carbon steel.
The cutting edge stays sharp for a long time and, with a little camellia oil and careful maintenance, Japanese pruning shears should last for many years. Both the joint surfaces and the blades are carefully finished and adjusted for effortless cutting and the extremely sharp blades cut through plant stems very cleanly.
In addition to offering the secateur type of pruning shears, we also offer traditional Japanese Ikenobo shears and Koryu shears, which are indispensable for the arts of Ikebana flower arranging and Bonsai.
Here are 3 sizes of our recommendation, high quality Japanese Pruning Shears, made of Japanese High Carbon steel tough Hamaguri-ba blade.
You can select your favorite size at your preference.
