Lilac & Purple Potted Peruvian Lily Plants For Sale | Alstroemeria Inca Mystic
Dazzle your home and garden with this regal purple dwarf Alstroemeria! Inca Mystic produces brilliant blooms in shades of pale lilac, royal purple, and soft white. The inner petals are kissed with sweet little cocoa-colored freckles and strokes of gold.
This mound-forming, tuberous perennial is perfect for borders, small gardens and is excellent in containers! Grow her in a partial sunny spot with fertile, evenly moist, well-draining soil and you won't be sorry you did! Be careful, excessive dry soil induces dormancy and reduces flowering vigor. Deadhead spent flowers as needed or bring flowers inside to take advantage of their long vase life as cut flowers. In early Spring, trim back or gently pull out old tuberous stems to encourage new growth and better flowering.
Are you lucky enough to have A/C? Do you keep your home temperate year-round? These compact Alstroemeria may be the most spectacular houseplant for you! As long as nobody has allergies to pollen of course.
Alstroemeria are true Goldilocks plants, they don't like it too hot nor too cold. They are native to the Andes mountain region of South America, where it stays cool/temperate year-round. Ideal temperatures are 50-65 F but they can withstand intermittent hot days up to 75 F with afternoon shade and a little TLC. Frost will kill unprotected leaves and roots.
Easy to Grow Features:
- Zone: 8-10; Annual everywhere else; Mulch or bring potted plants inside below 40F. Can be perennial to zone 7 with extra protection
- Height: 8-12 inches
- Sunlight: Partial Sun; Bright indirect or filtered light is best
- Water: Moderate
- Flowering Time: Late Spring - Early Fall
- Flower Color: Purple, Lilac, and White with Whiskers
