Cryptocoryne Wendtii Tropica 3cm Terracotta Pot

Scientific name: Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Tropica'
Trade name: Tropica Wendtii

A lovely variety of Wendtii, with deep shades of red over the leaves and particularly the petiole (leaf stem) and midrib of the leaf. This is a fabulous plant and highly recommended.

Crypts are highly collectable and a mass planting of various types creates an impressive display in an aquarium. They can also be used as a feature or centre plant.

They can be planted in the aquarium in the terracotta pot or the pot and grow-wool can be removed to plant the bare root crypt in the substrate.

Cryptocoryne sp. or Crypts are very popular, easy to grow, aquatic plants. There are many different species of crypts encompasing many leaf shapes, colours and textures. They can be all shades of green, red, copper and brown with textures as varied as smooth, wavy, dimpled, strappy, puckered or veined. The leaves grow in a very attractive rosetting formation.

Crypts typically originate in South East Asia where they enjoy growing in shady streams and rivers. In the wild, they will grow both above the water and underwater. This is referred to as emerse or submerse.

Typically, Cryptocorynes are best suited to nuetral pH 6.8-7.2 they prefer the pH to remain relatively constant. They are easy to grow. Ideally, when keeping crypts, a weekly 25% water change is recommended. They are well suited to low or medium light and make very good foreground to midground plants depending on the variety and natural size. They look great grouped in patches of 3 or 5 plants.

In the wild, they adapt rapidly to life underwater during the wet season. The majority of our crypts are grown emerse. When they are placed in a tank they will grow new underwater leaves and establish themselves in the aquarium.

Crypts are one of the three main family groups of aquarium plants which include Anubias, Cryptocorynes and Echinodorus. Together these plant families can form the framework for a fantastic, aquascaped aquarium.

SPECTACULAR dog chew toy!
Size: One Size, Style: Ball
If you look at my profile, you will see that I have bought and reviewed a LOT of dog toys! My boxer is an "aggressive" chewer and we go through dog toys quickly in my house. This has been one of my very favorite chew toys that I have ever purchased. This company sells quite a few of these chew toys in different shapes. This ball is made from a very light foam rubber (I think) material. When I showed it to my husband, he said "that won't last 5 minutes" and I had my doubts too. However, this ball has proven to be EXTREMELY durable! Because it is made from the foam material, it has a lot of tooth sized holes in it after she chews it, but she has been unable to chew the toy apart. I bought another of these chew toys made from the same material in a different shape thinking surely there was some accident that the toy had held up for so long. Nope, the new toy has held up just as well! The toys float in water and are very light and easy to throw. Overall, I will be buying more of these toys and would recommend this product!

Didn't last one day.
Size: Large, Style: Duck Slingshot, Size: Large, Style: Duck Slingshot
Didn't last even an hour. This damage wasn't from the dog either, it looks like it let loose from the stress of just trying to launch it! It doesn't fly near as far as the discontinued Pig Slingshot toy. Bring back the pig, please. I also ordered the other listed Hyper Pet flying fowl, and it flew the same distance as this one, and has lasted through the day (but needs to be heavier). But for this one, perhaps they needed to double stitch the area under the 'chin'? I'll try to return it. It looks like it should be more durable, but at least that part isn't. Second one: I chose the replacement, instead of a refund because my dog loves me shooting the toys into the yard. He saw the new duck, and was excited. Six shots in and the seam on the bottom of the head was already separating. By 10 or so times, it was getting concerning as the seams were opening enough I was concerned that it would lose its filling. I'm disappointed, and so is my dog. Just in case anyone is wondering, I never let him alone with this, and still feel, even more so, that the failure is the stitching on the bottom of the head, right at the point where the most stresses of launching it are focused. I'd strongly recommend that Hyper Pet use two layers of full canvas over that area, and also Bring Back The Slingshot Pig, PLEASE... The second picture is the second Duck, and my 7 month old. He wasn't ready to end the session. The problem, for us, is that the 'dog run' isn't very long, and all of the other toys I have are bazooka style launching devices that I can't use yet as they would fly far over the fence. Ironically one is from Hyper Pet, and is amazing. Works so well. Too well?

Not for labrador chewing.
Size: One Size, Style: Stick, Size: One Size, Style: Stick
Not recommended for a Labrador if they enjoy retrieving then chewing, because the stick will only last 20-30mins. The stick does float, and is hollow which is good when it’s been bitten down to ball size.

Great toy except the stitching
Size: Large, Style: Duck Slingshot, Size: Large, Style: Duck Slingshot
Excellent toy. My Lab immediately loved it and I used it to get her to swim for the first time! However, after just one use, the stitching started coming apart under the head. I wish it had been more durable, my dog loves it.

My dogs love these.
Size: One Size, Style: Stick
My dogs are chewers and we use these for the dogs to chase them into the lake. They float well and are easy to see. Even if they start to chew on them they are substantial enough to last through the summer. The dogs love them. We’ve been using them for several summers now but hide them until it is time to play fetch in the water again.
