Golden Bantam Sweet Corn Seeds from Survival Garden Seeds offer a true piece of American gardening history. This classic open-pollinated heirloom was the variety that introduced families to the rich, sweet flavor of yellow corn grown for the table—not just livestock feed. Compact, reliable, and productive, Golden Bantam is an excellent choice for home gardeners seeking dependable harvests and traditional sweet corn flavor.

Plants grow to about 5 feet tall and typically produce two well-filled ears per stalk. Ears average 6–7 inches long with 8–10 rows of juicy, tender kernels. Golden Bantam performs especially well when planted early, tolerating cooler soil better than many modern sweet corn varieties.

America’s Original Yellow Sweet Corn:

  • Historic heirloom that popularized yellow sweet corn for home gardens
  • Produces flavorful, tender kernels ideal for fresh eating
  • Compact plants suited for small and large garden spaces

Reliable, Cold-Tolerant Heirloom Variety:

  • Open-pollinated for seed saving and long-term garden sustainability
  • Grows well in cooler soils and early-season plantings
  • Consistent producer with two ears per stalk

Why Customers Love Golden Bantam Sweet Corn:

  • Rich, classic sweet corn flavor
  • Excellent for roasting and eating fresh off the cob
  • Ideal for creamed corn, canning, and freezing
  • Dependable performance in a wide range of garden conditions

How to Grow Golden Bantam Sweet Corn:
Direct sow seeds outdoors after danger of frost, or plant early in cooler soils where conditions allow. Harvest ears at the milk stage, about 20 days after silks emerge. When silks begin to brown, gently pull back the husk and press a kernel with your fingernail. If the liquid is milky, the corn is ready to pick. Harvest promptly for the best sweetness and flavor.

Good resource
I bought this to prepare for my RHIT exam, gives a good run down of most HIM topics but does not go in depth, repeat does not go in depth at times, but good for quick referencing and seeing how different topics relate. This should not be the only resource to prepare for test. as I said, does not go in depth on topics you need to know a lot about on exam. For example devotes one page to a topic that you could easily read a whole textbook about. For example, there is a chapter on reimbursement. You’re going to want to actually review your text book that is solely about reimbursement methodologies, but as I said a good general resource to give a refresher and maybe get a better understanding on how different HIM topics relate. At times presented better information than you could find using a google search.

Expensive, but useful
I rented, then purchased. This book has a lot of concise information not easily found online so is worth the money for accuracy. It is a heavy, hardback book but if kept in an office, is a very useful tool.

No online support!!!!
This book is ok. I did found it a little bit confusing! But whats the worst: I went online to use my code and there are practice Questions but NO ANSWERS !!!!!!! Its a big and expansive book, I was expecting more learning tools to help me with studying. Very disappointing that the main organization and founder of Health Inf. Management Tech. would do such a thing to his students!!!! AHIMA- shame on you!!!
