💜 Toothed Leaves, Timeless Scent • Organic Perennial • Drought-Tolerant & Craft-Ready

Add texture, fragrance, and pollinator power to your garden with French Lavender (Lavandula dentata)—a sun-loving Mediterranean herb known for its soft purple blooms, finely toothed gray-green leaves, and signature calming scent. Unlike English lavender, French lavender offers a longer bloom period and a milder, sweeter aroma, making it a favorite for borders, dried crafts, herbal sachets, and buzzing bees alike.

This drought-tolerant perennial is a visual and sensory delight, thriving in containers, rock gardens, herb spirals, and dry landscapes. It makes a charming companion in kitchen gardens and pollinator beds while delivering endless beauty from spring through fall.

🌿 Why Grow French Lavender?

💜 Soft Purple Blooms with a Sweet, Clean Fragrance
Charming flowers on long stems make perfect additions to bouquets, wreaths, and essential oil infusions.

🌱 Ornamental, Toothed Foliage
Silvery green leaves with finely serrated edges—visually distinct and highly aromatic.

🦋 Pollinator Friendly
Attracts bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects all season long.

🔥 Drought-Tolerant Once Established
Perfect for xeriscaping, rock gardens, and low-water landscapes.

🧺 Great for Crafting & Herbal Use
Use fresh or dried in sachets, potpourri, soaps, and tea blends.

🌿 How to Grow French Lavender

Botanical Name: Lavandula dentata
Plant Type: Tender Perennial (grown as an annual in zones below 8)
Days to Germination: 14–28 days
Days to Maturity: Blooms within first year in warm zones
Sunlight: Full sun
Soil: Light, well-drained, slightly alkaline soil
Seed Depth: Surface sow – needs light to germinate
Spacing: 12–18 inches
Height at Maturity: 18–24 inches
USDA Zones: 8–11 (grow as annual or container plant in cooler zones)

Start seeds indoors 10–12 weeks before last frost. Be patient—lavender germinates slowly and prefers warmth (a heat mat helps!). Transplant outdoors after frost, and choose a sunny, well-drained location.

🛠️ Growing Tips

  • Avoid rich or soggy soil—lavender prefers “tough love.”

  • Prune lightly in early spring to shape and encourage new growth.

  • Overwinter in pots indoors if you’re in Zones 7 or below.

  • Let soil dry between waterings once established.

  • Harvest flower spikes just before full bloom for maximum fragrance.

🌎 Perfect For:

🦋 Pollinator Gardens – Blooms attract beneficial insects for months
🧺 Herbal Crafting – Ideal for lavender bundles, sachets, and oils
🪴 Containers & Balcony Gardens – Beautiful and manageable in pots
🏡 Cottage & Mediterranean Gardens – Perfect for dry, sunny spaces with rustic charm
🌿 Aromatherapy & Wellness Gardens – Naturally soothing and versatile

🌱 Fun Fact:
Lavandula dentata is nicknamed “toothed lavender” for the tiny serrations along its leaves. Native to the Mediterranean and Canary Islands, it’s a favorite in herbal traditions for its calming scent and its ability to thrive in hot, dry climates.

I like the design of these dermaplane razors
I have been using a different brand that folds in half for easy travel but the drawback was a small and unreliable handle. Not so for these razors – the straight handle allows for a more controlled and steady shave, I don’t have to worry about my razor folding up mid stroke. The blades themselves are a decent length and come in two different sizes. I have been using the larger ones for dermaplaning and touch ups whereas the smaller blades work great for shaping up eyebrows. These are not the highest quality razors, I mean not terrible but I did have one of the razor parts pop off of the handle unintentionally. I feel like $13.99 is on the higher end for 12 razors, I have seen similar blades for cheaper and larger quantity (although they didn’t have the two different sizes).

12 pack derma planing razors
I am a huge fan of derma planing and was quite intrigued by this set of razors. I was curious how they'd stack up to my tried and true disposable razors hat I've been using for years. First, they look and feel pretty nice - definitely nicer than my current ones. I do wish the handles were a lil more grippy because they get slippery very easily if they get wet or if you accidentally get oil/lotion on them. There isn't any indication of how many times you can use each razor or if they're only single use. There are two different sized razors included, but I'm not sure what the smaller ones are for - I wish they'd include some instructions! Currently priced at $13.89 for 12 razors, I find the price to be too high for what you receive. They are nice razors, yes, but they are not premium quality.

Effective dermaplaning wands
These razors work really well for removing my peach fuzz. I have a fuzzy chin and hair on my knuckles that’s hard to get off with a larger razor. These come in two sizes for precision dermaplaning. I apply some jojoba oil to my skin before dermaplaning and there is no irritation. I love the frosty translucent handles, they look clean and professional. There are twelve to a pack and they come in a little box to keep them all together. These are a great value for the quality.

Fast & Easy
These work really good. I have been waxing for over 20 years and I just wanted to try something new. This set comes with two different sizes. I used the large blade for my chin and lip. And the smaller blade for my eyebrows. The handle is sturdy and not flimsy. Comes with a case. I already stuck one of each in my travel bag!

work well + good value for the pack
Finally got a chance to try these recently. They're exactly like the ones I already had, that I paid a little more for. I think these are a good value and work pretty well - not as well as the better beauty store razors, but better than like dollar tree or something. I like the size of the handle. I consider them disposable, especially if you're using with a hair identifying powder spray or oil.
