Spathiphyllum, known as the Peace Lily, is one of the most elegant and easy-going indoor plants, celebrated for its glossy green foliage and distinctive white blooms. Native to the tropical rainforests of Central and South America, this beautiful perennial from the Araceae family brings calm, air-purifying freshness to any indoor space.

The Peace Lily’s “flowers” are actually white spathes — modified leaves that surround a cream or yellow spadix — creating its signature look of pure, understated beauty. The contrast between the lush, dark green leaves and crisp white blooms makes it a timeless favourite for homes, offices, and interior design projects.

Beyond its beauty, the Peace Lily is a top-rated air purifier, known to remove toxins such as benzene, formaldehyde, and carbon monoxide from indoor air. It’s the perfect plant for adding both elegance and wellbeing to your living space.

Spathiphyllum (Peace Lily) – Care Guide

Light

Thrives in bright, indirect light, but also tolerates lower-light conditions better than most flowering plants. Too much direct sunlight may scorch the leaves, while too little light can reduce flowering.

Watering

Keep the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry, and allow excess water to drain away. Peace Lilies are good communicators — they’ll droop slightly when thirsty but recover quickly after watering. Use filtered or rainwater where possible, as they can be sensitive to fluoride in tap water.

Temperature and Humidity

  • Temperature: Prefers 18–26°C. Avoid cold draughts and temperatures below 15°C.

  • Humidity: Enjoys moderate to high humidity (50–70%). Mist occasionally or place near other tropical plants to increase moisture levels.

Soil and Potting

Use a rich, free-draining, peat-free compost mixed with perlite or orchid bark to promote airflow. Repot every 1–2 years in spring to refresh the soil and encourage strong growth.

Feeding

Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a diluted, balanced liquid fertiliser. Avoid overfeeding, as this can cause leaf tip browning.

Pruning and Maintenance

Remove any yellowing or old leaves and cut back faded flower stalks at the base. Wipe leaves with a soft, damp cloth to keep them glossy and free from dust.

Growth and Maturity

A moderately fast grower that typically reaches 40–90 cm tall indoors. Mature plants may bloom several times per year under the right conditions.

Common Issues

  • Brown leaf tips: Low humidity, over-fertilising, or fluoride in tap water.

  • Yellowing leaves: Overwatering or poor drainage.

  • No flowers: Insufficient light or lack of feeding.

  • Pests: Occasionally spider mites, aphids, or mealybugs — wipe leaves regularly to prevent infestations.

Background and Benefits

The Peace Lily has been a favourite since the Victorian era for its elegance, symbolism, and practicality. It represents peace, hope, and purity, and remains one of the most giftable houseplants today. In addition to its calming appearance, Spathiphyllum improves air quality and brings a sense of serenity to interiors.

Its lush foliage, easy-going nature, and resilience make it ideal for beginners and experts alike — a plant that looks effortlessly beautiful all year round.

    Great oral probiotic!
Size: 30 Count (Pack of 1)
Great oral probiotic! Tastes very good and has the right strains for oral health. Brushing, flossing and scraping are all key... and adding in a good oral probiotic is like the icing on the cake. Not too expensive either. If you are looking for a product like this, I can highly recommend NatureWise.

Didn't Hurt, Didn't Help Much Either.
Size: 60 Count (Pack of 1)
Recently I was looking for an oral probiotic to help with sinus, gums and tartar for both myself and some pets. As a result, I purchased both this product and Great Oral Health's probiotics. Even though this product did have some positive effect as regards sinus pressure, it took two tables three times a day to work. Also, I noticed that an earthy, clay-like smell to breath in both myself and my pets as a result of using them. It didn't cause any harm, only that it was slightly disconcerting to smell like dirt. The product from Great Oral Health didn't take as long to produce results, and there was a visible reduction in tartar. Also, no odor. All in all, nothing majorly wrong with the product, except that it doesn't have results noticeable enough to warrant buying again.

Same probiotic strains, but a subtle formulation update
Size: 60 Count (Pack of 1)
I’ve used NatureWise Oral Health Probiotics (WiseBiotics) for a while and recently noticed a clear difference between the older and newer version — especially in taste and texture. After comparing the labels side-by-side, there has been a formulation change. The probiotic strains are still the same (including BLIS K12 and M18), but the newer version now lists Organic Inulin (90 mg) as an active ingredient instead of just a minor “other ingredient.” This seems to explain the changes I noticed: • The tablets feel more powdery/chalky • The taste is slightly different (a bit less crisp mint, slightly sweeter/fiber-like) • The dissolve/chew experience is not quite the same as before Inulin is a prebiotic fiber, so this change may actually help feed the probiotics — which is a positive. But it definitely changes the user experience. For me, it’s not necessarily a dealbreaker, but it’s noticeable enough that others should be aware, especially if you’re sensitive to texture or ingredients like inulin. Bottom line: Same probiotic strains, but a subtle formulation update that affects taste and texture. Still a good product — just not identical to the previous version. Hope this helps someone else who thought they were imagining things 🙂

    These WORK!
Size: 60 Count (Pack of 1)
I purchased these two bottles ago for help with dealing with a bad case of oral thrush caused by a couple rounds of powerful antibiotics and fluconazole (rebound?) for a bad UTI and resulting yeast infection. Oil pulling, mouthwashes, salt water rinses all helped, but this put me over the top. I also take a candida killing herbal supplement as well as a variety of probiotics. I appreciate the mint is very mild (these are NOT breath mints which only mask the problem) and dissolve them slowly in my mouth at bedtime along with another during the day. I am also sure to not put anything else in my mouth for a good long time after so the pb’s can do their magic. i believe the thrush is mostly gone, but I still have some residual tingling and burning from time to time. These, along with good oral cleansing practices, help tremendously. I now order them regularly. They also make your breath fresh, naturally. Great product. Highly recommend!

    Taste
Size: 30 Count (Pack of 1)
I ordered this a week ago, and it seems to taste like smoke or an ashtray. It was not a pleasant taste at all, I expected it to be great with all the other good reviews. Unfortunately that was not the case for me.
