Butterfly Milkweed Seeds - Heirloom, Non-GMO, Non-Hybrid, Open-Pollinated - Perfect for Pollinator Gardens

Grow a vibrant and essential addition to your garden with Butterfly Milkweed seeds. Known for their stunning orange blooms, Butterfly Milkweed (Asclepias tuberosa) is a hardy perennial that attracts monarch butterflies, bees, and other pollinators, making it a cornerstone plant for any pollinator-friendly garden. These heirloom, non-GMO, non-hybrid, and open-pollinated seeds provide a sustainable and reliable way to grow beautiful milkweed plants year after year.

Each packet contains 400mg of seed, approximately 100 seeds.

Planting and Growing Instructions

Sunlight Requirements: Butterfly Milkweed thrives in full sun, requiring at least 6-8 hours of sunlight daily to ensure healthy growth and abundant blooms.

Days to Maturity: 70-90 days to first blooms, with perennial growth in subsequent seasons.

Planting Depth: Sow seeds at a depth of 1/4 inch for optimal germination.

Plant Spacing: Space plants 12-18 inches apart to allow ample room for growth and airflow.

Days to Germination: 10-20 days, depending on temperature and soil conditions.

Indoor vs. Outdoor Sowing: For best results, start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost or sow directly outside after the danger of frost has passed. If starting indoors, stratify seeds for 30 days by chilling them in moist soil to mimic natural cold conditions.

Soil and Water Needs: Plant in well-drained soil with moderate moisture needs. Butterfly Milkweed is drought-tolerant once established.

Why Choose Our Seeds?

Our Butterfly Milkweed seeds are carefully selected to ensure quality and vitality. They are heirloom, non-GMO, non-hybrid, and open-pollinated, meaning you can save seeds from year to year to cultivate your own vibrant pollinator haven. This low-maintenance plant is an excellent choice for borders, wildflower meadows, and butterfly gardens, offering both beauty and ecological benefits.

Butterfly Milkweed not only enhances your garden with its fiery orange flowers but also supports the lifecycle of monarch butterflies by serving as a host plant for their caterpillars. Plant these seeds to enjoy stunning blooms while contributing to essential pollinator populations!

The hidden secret is a hit!
Format: Hardcover
My 6 year old has autism and his hyper fixation is anything space related and comparing sizes of everything in it from molecules to galaxies. So needless to say finding this book hit every one of his interests and he’s hooked. Not only is the book cute and clever, the hidden secret at the end of the book sent him into a fit of giggles while searching for everything with his black light pen. This is the only book he constantly goes back to.

Loved this book!
Format: Hardcover
I have a grandson (5yrs old) who loves "There was an old lady who swallowed a fly" books, and is obsessed with black holes as well. He asked santa for a black hole for Christmas and his mom told me, "good luck with that", so when I found this, it was perfect! He absolutely loved it and it's a cute book to read.

2nd book if you have black light
Format: Hardcover
The book is ok, with the same plot as "there was an old lady who swallowed a fly" but there is a second book that goes back to front if you have a blacklight. Some of the pages were not printed well with the invisible ink but I really liked that second book better, as it explains the terminology like quarks and atoms. It is a fun book but having a black light is a must.
