Philodendron Florida Ghost Mint: The Unique Pale Wonder

Philodendron Florida Ghost Mint is a rare, pale version of the popular Florida Ghost, known for its ethereal mint-green foliage. This stunning plant adds a touch of sophistication and uniqueness to any indoor space. With proper care, this variety can become a prized centerpiece in your collection.

Special Characteristics of Florida Ghost Mint:

  • Minty Green Foliage: The distinctive mint-green leaves create an ethereal, almost ghostly look that adds a special touch to your plant collection.
  • Compact Growth: This plant grows relatively compact, making it ideal for those with limited space.
  • Tropical Elegance: It combines elegance with tropical charm, making it a conversation starter.

If You’re a Minimalist Stylist
You want light, lift, and clean geometry—without visual noise. Florida Ghost Mint delivers creamy-mint new leaves on an elegant, lobed silhouette that reads sculptural rather than busy. Place it in bright, diffused light and the fresh growth opens pale (mint, ivory-green, sometimes with soft lime washes) before gradually deepening across the blade with maturity. On a slim pole or flat board, internodes tighten and the outline becomes a refined column—perfect beside microcement, limewash, pale timber, or matte stone.

If You’re a Content Creator
Looking for a plant that films beautifully? The satin to semi-gloss finish throws a gentle highlight under side light, while the pale mint tones “pop” against neutral backdrops without blowing out on camera. A single leader trained upright gives you a consistent leaf plane for B-roll; rotate the planter a quarter-turn every two weeks and you’ll keep the crown centered for repeatable shots. Tip: stage one negative-space window behind the newest leaf so the lobes outline crisply at a glance.

If You’re a Small-Space Collector
You want tall impact in a compact footprint. This hybrid’s narrow stance and disciplined petioles make it a natural for shelves, desksides, and entry niches. Guide the primary stem closely to its support; let a secondary shoot arc softly to create depth without spread. Neutral planters (sand, ecru, oatmeal, charcoal) frame the mint palette; a single companion—velvety Anthurium or matte-leaf Scindapsus—adds texture contrast while keeping Florida Ghost Mint in the starring role.

If You Want Reliable Routine (Care Capsule)

  • Light: Bright, diffused daylight all day—east-window glow or a luminous zone behind sheers. Even luminance preserves minty fresh tones on new leaves and tightens spacing. Filter harsh midday sun to protect pale tissue.
  • Water: When the top 2–3 cm (≈1 in) of mix dries, water thoroughly and allow full drainage. A calm, repeatable rhythm (not constant damp) keeps margins clean and unfurls smooth.
  • Substrate: Oxygen-forward aroid blend—chunky orchid bark + coco fiber/coir + pumice/perlite, plus a modest sphagnum buffer. Air first, gentle moisture second.
  • Climate: Home-friendly band ~18–29 °C (65–85 °F) and ~50–70% RH with gentle airflow. Avoid AC blasts/heater streams directly on foliage.
  • Nutrition: Light feeding at ¼–½ strength during active months supports leaf finish and color clarity; address light quality before increasing fertilizer.
  • Training: Slim moss pole, coco totem, or a flat cedar board. Secure each node with soft ties so the stem hugs the support and the column stays gallery-clean.
  • Grooming: Dust a few blades weekly; remove spent sheaths for a polished crown. Rotate for uniform color expression around the canopy.
  • Pet note: As with many aroids, place out of nibbling reach.

If You’re Curating a Palette
Pair minty fresh leaves with warm neutrals (raw oak, rattan, travertine) for softness, or set the plant against charcoal and graphite for a high-contrast, editorial look. The pale-to-green transition across the canopy creates a natural gradient, so the vignette feels dynamic even when you keep accessories minimal.

Troubleshooting Quick Read

  • Long gaps / muted mint: Increase overall brightness (still filtered) and keep the apex in your brightest safe pocket.
  • Brown on pale areas: Often late watering or direct sun—tighten cadence, add filtering.
  • Perpetually wet mix: Increase bark/pumice fraction or step down pot size for better aeration.

Good quality for price
Format: Paperback
This was a good book for the summer. It has a variety of activities so my child didn't get bored. It also has some fun "outside" only ideas to get them up and moving. It was a good bridge book that she could (mostly) do independently. However, as they progress through it, parents should be there to help and reiterate different concepts. It was well worth the price and helped the transition go smoothly.

Perfect To Keep A Youngster's Mind Active Over The Summer
Format: Paperback
Simply put, this is a great activity book to help your child stay mentally active when out of school for the summer. It is not intended to be a full school curriculum, but instead a way to keep children mentally active during the summer break. We have a child leaving 2nd and heading to 3rd grade and were concerned about her skills being lost over the summer. While we do work with her to increase her skillset, we were more concerned about the atrophy that happens when not in school than jumping her ahead. It can be a bit tough for kids returning to school if they go 2-3 months with little book work, so we wanted to help keep her fresh but not fill her summer with full days of 'school' work. This book is a solid mix of skills with some being easy and others more of stretch. The easy and stretch items will vary with the schooling your child gets and their abilities. I suspect most kids heading to third grade will find most of the work in this book at least a strong refresher and potentially help move them in some areas. This is setup to be a roughly 15 minute daily regime but we have enhanced it with some other work. We have math and science specific activity books as well as a reading workbook that we rotate into the mix. We also keep track of words she has a harder time spelling and use them make a 10 spelling word weekly review and test (review for 4 days and test on the fifth). Most of these topics are in the bridge activities book, but we felt a little extra attention would not hurt and some variety in what she is working on keeps things fresh. We do spelling, reading/writing and a couple 'pages' of work each weekday which comes out to about a 45-60 minute batch of work. The Summer Bridge Activities books is a constant in the mix with a page used almost every day and the other work rotated.

Great summer workbook!
Format: Paperback
So far an easy book compared to the Argo Summer Academy one that was too challenging. I don't like the way the pages are perforated they fall out of the book too easily. I feel like it is a good balance of keeping up skills already learned and softly introducing a little bit of challenge. I like how each day has math and reading. Easy to keep skills up with only 15 minutes of work a day.

Ideal for Summer Learning
Format: Paperback, Format: Paperback
The books are made of good quality and are durable for daily use. The pages are colorful, and the text is a good size for children to read. The instructions are clear and cover a wide variety of topics to reinforce children during the summer. I would like for it to explain some concepts and not just be exercises. It includes answer sheets for all exercises, stickers to reward each day of exercise, and a diploma upon finishing the book. The exercises are designed for 15-20 minutes daily and are meant for children to review every day. The pages are thick, so even if they use markers, it won't bleed through to the other side. I highly recommend them to avoid the summer gap when returning to classes.

Good book for summer!
Format: Paperback
I always get my son a workbook for that summer gap between grades, just so he doesn’t forget what he has learned and to get a little head start for the next grade. I usually get another brand but decided on this one and it is so great! Had the same exact material my son learned in second grade so it was easy for him to get in the groove of things and eases him into the next grade
