The Prickly Pear "Baby Rita" Cactus is an epiphytic (grows on trees or in rock formations out in nature) cactus that has paddle-shaped leaves with veryyyy sharp spines. The 'Baby Rita' variation has dark purple edging and depending on the lighting situation it lives in (the more, the better!), it can show up with a darker purple. 

Basic Care: Desert-dwelling cacti are low-maintenance, and as a result, sometimes they accidentally get completely neglected, so don't forget about your new addition! Use a very well-draining soil, such as a cactus mix. Water when soil is completely dry, which is usually about once a month in the average indoor environment. Lots of bright, indirect light is ideal for most cacti, and they will struggle without enough sunlight. 

Watering Test: If your cactus is squeezable - without getting poked - give it a gentle squeeze. If it feels squishy or if it looks wrinkly, it needs a watering.
