Aglaonema 'Cintho King'

Aglaonema 'Cintho King' is a larger Chinese evergreen with broad green leaves marked by pale silver-green centres and deeper green margins. It grows upright and bushy, forming a broad leafy crown on short stems. Wide foliage gives the plant a broad outline in a floor pot, on a low stand, or in a larger bright indoor spot.

This cultivar develops a larger crown than many compact Aglaonema selections. Leaf size, petiole length and upright growth give it a clear outline in a larger indoor spot, while the distinct midrib lines and rounded crown create a full shape in a pot.

Aglaonema 'Cintho King' defining traits

  • Upright, bushy Aglaonema with a fuller medium-sized habit
  • Large lance-shaped leaves with silver-green centres and darker green edges
  • Light petioles that lift the foliage above the pot
  • Warm indoor rooms with filtered light and stable watering

Large leaves, upright habit and background

Aglaonema 'Cintho King' develops a dense crown of broad leaves carried on firm, pale petioles. The blades are elongated, smooth and slightly pointed, with a central silver-green field that follows the midrib and a darker border around the leaf. In indoor cultivation, the plant gradually builds width and height as fresh leaves rise from the crown.

The stems remain relatively short while the leaves create most of the plant’s height and spread. Over time, older basal leaves may fade as new growth forms above them. This is normal for Aglaonema and can be managed by removing ageing leaves cleanly at the base.

Aglaonema is a tropical Asian aroid genus adapted to warm, shaded forest conditions. Indoors, this means filtered light, consistent warmth, an airy but moisture-holding root zone, and protection from cold. 'Cintho King' is a cultivated Aglaonema selection.

Aglaonema 'Cintho King' care needs

  • Light: Place in bright filtered light or steady medium light. The large pale leaf areas mark easily in harsh sun, especially close to south-facing glass.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly once the top few centimetres of substrate feel dry. A larger plant may need a slower, deeper watering so the root ball moistens evenly.
  • Substrate: Use a free-draining foliage mix with fine bark, coco coir or peat-free fibre, perlite, pumice or other mineral particles. The mix needs to stay lightly moist while allowing air around the roots.
  • Drainage: Keep the plant in a pot with drainage holes and remove standing water from the cover pot after watering. A heavy decorative pot can help balance larger leaves.
  • Temperature: Maintain 18–26 °C for steady growth. Keep away from cold floors, draughty doors and winter window glass.
  • Humidity: Moderate humidity helps new leaves expand smoothly. In dry heated rooms, a humidifier nearby is more reliable than misting.
  • Feeding: Feed lightly during active growth. Use a balanced houseplant fertiliser at reduced strength, as Aglaonema roots and leaf edges can react to salt build-up.
  • Repotting: Repot when the plant becomes top-heavy, roots circle the pot, or the substrate breaks down. Use a stable pot one size larger and refresh the mix around the root ball.
  • Pruning: Remove old yellowing leaves at the base to keep the crown open. Very tall stems can be cut and rooted as node cuttings in warm conditions.
  • Acclimation: After shipping or a major move, keep the plant warm, in filtered light, and water only after checking the root ball. Large leaves may need a short settling period after transport.
  • Propagation: Division is easiest on mature clumps with several shoots. Each section needs roots and a healthy crown to recover well.
  • Semi-hydro substrates: Established, healthy plants can adapt to mineral substrates with a gradual transition. Keep the reservoir low at first and monitor root quality closely.

Decline signs on Aglaonema 'Cintho King'

  • Dark soft patches after cold exposure: Move the plant to stable warmth and keep the substrate on the drier side while damaged tissue declares itself.
  • Yellowing lower leaves: Check the age of the leaf first. Multiple yellow leaves together point to wet substrate, poor drainage or a cold root zone.
  • Brown tips and margins: Review watering pattern, fertiliser concentration and humidity. Large leaves show edge stress clearly when conditions fluctuate.
  • Leaning crown: Rotate the pot every few weeks and check whether the plant has become root-bound or top-heavy.
  • Sticky marks or fine webbing: Inspect petiole bases and undersides for pests. Clean the leaves and isolate the plant before treatment.

Balancing and grooming a larger crown

Give Aglaonema 'Cintho King' enough room around the crown for the large leaves to spread naturally. A simple floor pot or plant stand leaves enough space for the pale petioles and broad patterned leaves. Keep the leaves dust-free and remove ageing foliage promptly so the crown stays clean.

Safety for pets and children

Keep Aglaonema 'Cintho King' away from pets and small children because it contains insoluble calcium oxalate crystals. Chewing the leaves or stems can irritate the mouth, tongue and throat. Use gloves when pruning or dividing for sensitive skin.

No problems here... Great battery life and functions.
Color: Upgrade Silver, Size: Rechargeable
These things hold a charge forever.. I maybe charge them once every 3 or 4 months and use them daily. Good adjustment for coarse or fine grind. I would recommend.

Great grinders, bad recharging stand
Color: Upgrade Silver, Size: Rechargeable
The grinders work amazing and I loved them, but the stand that recharges them stoped working a little after a year.

Mediocre salt and pepper grinders
Color: Upgrade Silver, Size: Rechargeable
Pros: They do work, and they are rechargeable. Cons: the motors run really slow, capacity is low, The charging tray you have to empty frequentlyto reduce buildup underneath the salt and pepper grinders.
