Krishikranti SWEEP-58 2,4-D Dimethyl Amine Salt 58% SL is a selective, systemic post-emergence broadleaf weed killer used in wheat, paddy, maize, sugarcane, and non-cropped areas. As a synthetic auxin (HRAC Group 4), it is absorbed through weed leaves and kills broadleaf weeds within 10–14 days while keeping cereal crops safe. The amine salt form is less volatile than the ethyl ester, making it the safer choice near cotton, soybean, and vegetable fields.

Key Benefits of SWEEP-58 (2,4-D Amine Salt 58% SL)

  • Controls 20+ broadleaf weeds in cereals and sugarcane
  • Low volatility  reduced vapor drift risk to nearby sensitive crops
  • Safer for use in hot weather and near cotton, soybean, and vegetables
  • Systemic  kills root and shoot, no regrowth
  • Cost-effective at ~₹250–₹350 per acre
  • Effective on Parthenium and water hyacinth in non-cropped areas

How SWEEP-58 Works

2,4-D Dimethyl Amine Salt mimics the natural plant hormone auxin, triggering uncontrolled cell growth in broadleaf weeds. The plant exhausts its energy reserves and dies within 10–14 days. Cereals tolerate it because they metabolize the molecule before damage occurs. Leaf absorption begins within 4–6 hours; visible symptoms appear in 3–7 days.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is 2,4-D Amine Salt 58% SL used for?

2,4-D Amine Salt 58% SL is used as a post-emergence selective herbicide to control broadleaf weeds in wheat, paddy, maize, sugarcane, and for managing Parthenium and water hyacinth in non-cropped and aquatic areas.

What is the dosage of 2,4-D Amine Salt 58% SL?

The recommended dosage is 400–500 ml per acre (1.0–1.25 L per hectare) in 200 liters of water for wheat, paddy, and maize. For sugarcane use 600–800 ml per acre, and for non-cropped areas 800–1000 ml per acre.

What is the price of 2,4-D Amine Salt 58% SL?

Current pack-wise price of Krishikranti SWEEP-58 2,4-D Dimethyl Amine Salt 58% SL is listed on this page. Krishi Bhandar offers competitive farm-gate pricing with pan-India delivery and Cash on Delivery.

Is 2,4-D Dimethyl Amine Salt 58% SL same as 2,4-D Amine Salt 58% SL?

Yes. 2,4-D Dimethyl Amine Salt 58% SL is the full chemical name; 2,4-D Amine Salt 58% SL is the common short form. Both refer to the same product and same molecule.

What is the difference between 2,4-D Amine Salt and 2,4-D Ethyl Ester?

The amine salt is less volatile and safer near sensitive crops like cotton, soybean, and vegetables. The ethyl ester is faster acting and works better in cool weather but has higher vapor drift risk. Choose amine salt for hot weather and mixed-crop regions; choose ester for tough weeds in winter wheat.

When should I spray 2,4-D Amine Salt in wheat?

Spray 25–35 days after sowing when broadleaf weeds are at the 2–4 leaf stage. Do not spray after the wheat crop reaches the booting or flowering stage.

Is 2,4-D Amine Salt safe for cotton and soybean?

No  never spray on or near cotton, soybean, vegetables, grapes, or chilli. Although less volatile than the ester form, spray drift can still cause damage. Always use a dedicated sprayer.

Can SWEEP-58 be tank-mixed with grass herbicides?

Yes. In wheat it pairs well with Clodinafop or Sulfosulfuron for combined broadleaf and grass control. In paddy it tank-mixes with Pyrazosulfuron-ethyl. Always do a jar compatibility test first.

Didn't work out for me after a few uses.
Broke after only like 5 uses...not worth the money. Doesn't stay sharp nor does it auto-clamp onto cans after such uses. Thought it worked only to find out it didn't cut the can and left little metal shavings from just kinda "scratching" the can and I ended up getting a splinter. Thought it was low on battery and fully charged only for it to keep not cutting the can. Trashed it just gonna buy a regular stand up from walmart or something.

Easy to use without any effort
Color: Orange
Needed a small space electric opener to help with opening cans due to arthritis. Manual ones were difficult to use. This fits in the palm of your hand and is easy to attach to can. It opens regular size cans easily, although it is a bit slow. The one can it didn't work well on was Fancy Feast Cat Food cans. Seems to leave a sliver of metal on the edge, very tiny but of concern. Contacted customer service and they were excellent - quick responses and very helpful at working with me to see if it was just the fancy feast can or the opener. Seems that those two just don't work well together. They even sent me a second opener so that we could try to recreate the problem. I am keeping the original opener and returning the second one as neither will open the Fancy Feast can. They supplied a return label also. There are lots of cans in the world and this is just a minor function situation with this opener. I think it is a great product.

A very handy kitchen tool.
Color: White
This can opener is an easy, hands free tool, to use. It does open canned items efficiently, but slower than hand-turn openers, which saves a painful wrist motion from which I suffer. Unlike a traditional opener, this one cuts under the can edge which requires caution when removing the lid as exposed cut edges are very sharp. Also, the opener does not stop when it has completed its circuit. The start button has to be pressed to stop action.

Update Year Later, Love it! Really impressed
Color: Orange
Update: I've owned it a year now, still on original batteries (surprised me), it still works great. I still get a little annoyed with how slow it it, but might be time for new batteries. Once in a blue moon the circle is not completely cut, but that's on me as I control when to stop it, to reverse. No issuese removing lid, very smooth. Love it. Original review: I'm pleasantly surprised. It does a great job! Very smooth, safe cut. Who knew? That said, it is much slower than a standard electric can opener, and you have no idea where it's cutting. Now I started on the first letter on the product's label, and pay attention to when the circle is complete. Press the "on" button a second time and it goes backwards for a few seconds. Done! Use the attached magnet to pull off the lid. I'm thinking of buying a second one. Also, I very much like that it uses standard batteries, nothing weird to look for. Well done!
