Also known as the Calamondin Kumquat, Calamansi / Kalamansi, Limau Kasturi, Philippine Lime or Philippine Lemon. It is a hybrid of a kumquat and mandarin.
It's very popular throughout Asia - in particular the Philippines. It’s used widely to create a refreshing drink, can be squeezed over soups, used in liqueurs, candied and as an ingredient in preserves.
The fruit can be used when a greenish-yellow colour or when they’ve ripened to a yellowish-orange. The fruit has a delicious, distinctive sour flavour and is a gorgeous tree to grow in a pot or in the garden.
