Luffa (Luffa aegyptiaca) is a dual-purpose vine that produces gourds you can harvest young for cooking or let mature to dry into natural sponges. These are heirloom, non-GMO seeds sourced in the USA. Each pack contains 40 seeds.

Growing Tips
- Start indoors: Sow seeds indoors 4 to 6 weeks before your last expected frost. Luffa needs a long growing season, typically 150 to 200 days to full maturity.
- Soil temperature: Seeds germinate best when soil is between 70 and 85 degrees F. Soaking seeds in warm water for 24 hours before planting can speed sprouting.
- Transplanting: Move seedlings outdoors after all frost danger has passed and nighttime temperatures stay above 50 degrees F.
- Support: Luffa vines grow vigorously and can reach 10 to 15 feet. Provide a sturdy trellis or fence for the vines to climb.
- Spacing: Space plants 12 to 18 inches apart in rows 5 to 6 feet apart.
- Watering: Water consistently and deeply, especially during flowering and fruit set. Mulching helps retain moisture.
- Harvesting for sponges: Leave gourds on the vine until the skin turns brown and feels light. Peel away the outer skin, shake out the seeds, and rinse the fibrous interior.

Dogs like them

My dogs like these, but they're not quite what I expected. They're very thin and oddly flexible. By advertising they were "rawhide free" I assumed they'd be a little longer lasting (like a rawhide replacement). It's not a big deal because they're not expensive, but they don't last long once I give them to my dogs. I don't like the smell much, but I'm pregnant and more smell-sensitive than most now. My husband doesn't seem as bothered by the smell, so they might not be too bad for most people. The smell isn't bad enough that I wouldn't repurchase, but I think I'd probably choose something else since they don't last long and I was looking for something to keep the dogs busy for at least a few minutes.

My babies are grown teenagers now so now I spoil my dogs. I have amazing episodes of Shih Tzu and schnauzer and these girls live like royalty. They love these fact I get treats from Amazon so often that when the Amazon man comes, they go crazy because they think the boxes are for them.. I think dogs need variety and my girls are living their best lives.

Very thin & doesn't last

My dogs loves these but they are very thin and don't last long. My smallest dog 28lbs will eat these in less than 2mins and the bigger ones 95lbs will take like 3 bites and it's gone. Will be buying more because it's a great value for the money and my dogs love them.

Picky dog approved!

I have wasted so much money on dog balls that they won't even pick up! They finally were obsessed with the Kong rubber green/blue or red/blue ones, but they're $3+. each, and they break from the dogs squishing it. I honestly had zero expectations on these, and they BOTH picked them up on the first throw! That's huge!!
Seem to work fine in the ChuckIt.
As for the squeaker, at first I was like "Oh nooooo." when they both loudly started! Much to my (and my neighbors') happiness, the squeakers stopped working after a couple minutes. 🤣
