What Makes TEMREX Special?

Tembotrione is the breakthrough maize herbicide that replaced old-school atrazine in modern Indian maize farming. It does 3 things that older herbicides cannot:

  • Kills all 3 weed types in maize: Grasses + broadleaf + partial sedge control in one spray  no separate spray needed
  • Kills atrazine-resistant weeds: Years of atrazine use have created resistant weed strains. TEMREX uses a completely different mode of action (HPPD inhibition) and kills these escaped weeds
  • Visible bleaching action: Weeds turn white/yellow within 3 to 5 days of spray  farmers see the effect fast, full confidence in product working

What Weeds Does TEMREX Control?

Grasses

  • Echinochloa colona / crus-galli  Sanwa / Sama / Barnyard grass (most common maize grass)
  • Dactyloctenium aegyptium  Makra grass
  • Digitaria sanguinalis  Crab grass
  • Eleusine indica Goose grass / Mandwa
  • Setaria glauca  Yellow foxtail
  • Sorghum halepense  Johnson grass (suppression)

Broadleaf Weeds

  • Amaranthus viridis  Chaulai
  • Chenopodium album  Bathua
  • Digera arvensis  Lehsua / Digera
  • Trianthema portulacastrum  Punarnava / Patharchatta
  • Commelina benghalensis  Kanchara
  • Phyllanthus niruri, Euphorbia hirta
  • Parthenium hysterophorus  Congress grass
  • Convolvulus arvensis Field bindweed (suppression)

Quick Dose Reference: Standard dose: 140 ml per acre • Knapsack: 35 – 40 ml per 15 L pump • Per hectare: 350 ml • Water: 400 – 500 L/ha • Apply at 15 – 25 DAS (maize 2 – 6 leaf stage) • Add non-ionic surfactant 0.5% for best results

How Does Tembotrione Work?

  • Foliar absorption: Enters weeds through leaves within 1 to 2 hours of spray
  • Systemic translocation: Moves to growing points and meristems through xylem and phloem
  • Blocks HPPD enzyme: Inhibits 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase enzyme  stops carotenoid biosynthesis
  • Bleaching and death: Without carotenoids, chlorophyll is destroyed by sunlight  weeds turn white in 3 to 5 days, full death in 10 to 14 days

Maize plants are naturally tolerant because they contain a detoxification enzyme (cytochrome P450) that breaks down tembotrione safely. That is why maize stays unaffected while weeds die.

Important Precautions & Compatibility:
  • Spray only on maize  do not use on paddy, wheat, soybean, vegetables, or any other crop.
  • Maize stage matters: Spray between 2 – 6 leaf stage only. Late spray (after V6) can damage the crop.
  • Do not spray on stressed crop  drought, water-logging, nutrient deficiency, or pest damage can cause maize injury.
  • Add a surfactant  0.5% non-ionic surfactant or crop oil concentrate (COC) gives 20 – 30% better weed kill.
  • Drift caution: Avoid spray on windy days. Drift to nearby paddy, soybean, vegetables can cause severe damage.
  • Tank-mix: Compatible with most insecticides. Do not tank-mix with organophosphate insecticides (Chlorpyrifos, Profenofos)  risk of crop injury.
  • Rain-fast within 4 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is Tembotrione 34.4% SC used for? TEMREX (Tembotrione 34.4% SC) is a selective post-emergent herbicide for maize/corn. It controls grasses (Echinochloa, Makra), broadleaf weeds (Bathua, Chaulai, Lehsua), and partial sedges in one spray. It also kills atrazine-resistant weeds.
Q. What is the dose of Tembotrione 34.4% SC per acre? The recommended dose is 140 ml per acre dissolved in 150 to 200 litres of water. Per hectare: 350 ml. For light weed pressure, 115 to 120 ml per acre is sufficient. Add 0.5% non-ionic surfactant for best results.
Q. How much TEMREX per 15 litre pump? Mix 35 to 40 ml of TEMREX per 15 litre knapsack pump. One acre needs approximately 4 to 5 pumps with full water. Shake well before measuring.
Q. When should I spray Tembotrione in maize? Spray at 15 to 25 days after sowing (DAS), when maize is at 2 to 6 leaf stage and weeds are at 2 to 4 leaf stage. Do not spray after maize crosses 6-leaf stage  risk of crop injury increases.
Q. Is TEMREX safe for maize? Yes. Maize plants naturally detoxify Tembotrione through their internal cytochrome P450 enzyme. When applied at recommended dose (140 ml/acre) and stage (15 to 25 DAS, 2 to 6 leaf), it kills weeds without harming the maize crop.
Q. Tembotrione vs Atrazine  which is better for maize? Atrazine is pre-emergent only  sprayed before weed emergence. Tembotrione is post-emergent  spray after seeing the weed problem. Tembotrione also kills atrazine-resistant weeds and has broader spectrum. Best practice: use Atrazine at sowing (pre-emergent) + Tembotrione at 15-25 DAS (post-emergent rescue).
Q. Tembotrione vs Topramezone  what is the difference? Both are HPPD inhibitors and work similarly. Tembotrione has slightly better grass weed control, especially on Echinochloa. Topramezone has stronger broadleaf control. Both are safe on maize at recommended dose.
Q. TEMREX vs Laudis  what is the difference? Both contain the same active ingredient: Tembotrione 34.4% SC. Laudis (Bayer) is the original brand. Krishikranti TEMREX offers the same molecule, same efficacy, same dose at better farmer value.
Q. Will TEMREX kill Bathua and Chaulai in maize? Yes. Tembotrione is highly effective against Chenopodium album (Bathua) and Amaranthus (Chaulai)  two of the most common broadleaf weeds in Indian maize fields. Spray at 2 to 4 leaf stage of weeds for fastest kill.
Q. Can I tank-mix TEMREX with insecticides? Tembotrione is compatible with most insecticides for tank-mixing. Avoid mixing with organophosphate insecticides (Chlorpyrifos, Profenofos)  risk of crop injury. Always do a small jar test first.
Q. How long does Tembotrione take to kill weeds? Visible bleaching (white/yellow leaves) starts in 3 to 5 days. Weed growth stops within 48 hours. Full weed death in 10 to 14 days. The field stays weed-free for 30 to 45 days.
Q. Is Tembotrione 34.4% SC CIB & RC approved in India? Yes. Tembotrione 34.4% SC is CIB & RC approved in India for use in maize crop for the control of grasses, broadleaf weeds, and partial sedge weeds.

great product and reef safe
Size: 5 Ounce (Pack of 1)
bought this sunscreen because where we were traveling you could be fined if you weren't using reef safe sunscreen. this sunscreen went on easy and soaked in well. i appreciate that its mineral based and not filled with a ton of chemicals like most brands are. I also liked that the bottle turned color when you had UV exposure. We like the product and use it all the time even if it doesn't need to be reef safe.

This is the sunscreen I've been looking for my entire life
Size: 5 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I've tried almost every sunscreen under the sun. I've used lotions, sprays, sticks, always above spf50. I apply every 2-3 hours and always after swimming. I make sure the product isn't expired and you know what I STILL GET BURNED. BUT THIS ONE- I wore it on a carribean vacation so I was out in the sun constantly and NO SUN BURN AT ALL. I've officially become a blue lizard fan and will buy nothing else. The product is thicker than traditional sunscreen and you may need more than you traditionally use but it is so worth it. The smell is very slight if at all. It did not stick to my clothes at all. I went swimming with it on and it honestly was still on even after being in the ocean. I still reapplied to be safe but I could feel the first application still on my skin. I used the lotion for all over application and the spray can to help with getting my back and reapply on my legs. I used the little deodorant stick to apply to face and ears. All were very easy to use. And that's the only downside I have. You do have to scrub a little bit to get it off at the end of the day. For me not a downside at all because I know it was worth it for the sun protection and I would have had to scrub to get all the sand off anyway.

Waterproof
Size: 5 Ounce (Pack of 1)
This product is great for kids in the pool or ocean. It is very waterproof and you can even see the water beading on top of the sunscreen. It doesn't go on super clear, which can be an advantage for determining coverage. One other unique feature is the bottle itself changes color to indicate it is currently exposed to UV light although that is basically anytime you walk outside in daytime.
