Growing chrysanthemums (mums) from seeds can be a rewarding experience. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you grow chrysanthemums from seeds:

Timing:

Chrysanthemum seeds can be started indoors or sown directly in the garden, depending on your preference and the climate. If starting indoors, begin about 8-10 weeks before the last expected frost date.
Soil Preparation:

Chrysanthemums prefer well-draining soil. Use a high-quality potting mix if starting seeds indoors or prepare the garden soil by adding organic matter for improved fertility.
Sowing Seeds Indoors:

Fill seed trays or small pots with a seed-starting mix.
Plant chrysanthemum seeds on the soil surface and press them down gently. Chrysanthemum seeds require light to germinate, so do not cover them with soil.
Mist the soil surface with water and cover the trays or pots with plastic wrap or a humidity dome to maintain moisture.
Germination:

Chrysanthemum seeds usually germinate within 10-15 days. Once the seedlings have a few true leaves, remove the covering and place them in a location with bright, indirect light.
Transplanting:

Transplant the chrysanthemum seedlings into larger pots when they outgrow their initial containers. This is usually done when they have 2-3 sets of true leaves.
Harden off the seedlings by gradually exposing them to outdoor conditions before transplanting them into the garden.
Direct Sowing:

If you prefer, you can sow chrysanthemum seeds directly in the garden after the last frost. Choose a location with well-draining soil and space the seeds according to the instructions on the seed packet.
Sunlight and Water:

Chrysanthemums thrive in full sun. Provide them with at least 6 hours of sunlight daily.
Water the plants consistently, keeping the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged.
Fertilization:

Chrysanthemums benefit from regular feeding during the growing season. Use a balanced fertilizer and follow the package instructions.
Pinching:

Pinch back the growing tips of the chrysanthemum plants when they reach about 6 inches in height. This encourages bushier growth and more flower buds.
Support:

Depending on the variety, some chrysanthemum plants may benefit from staking or support to prevent them from flopping over.
Pest and Disease Control:

Monitor for pests and diseases, and take appropriate measures if necessary. Neem oil and insecticidal soap are common organic options for pest control.
Blooming and Deadheading:

Chrysanthemums typically bloom in late summer or fall. Deadhead spent flowers regularly to encourage continuous blooming.
By following these steps, you should be able to grow healthy and vibrant chrysanthemum plants from seeds. Enjoy the beautiful blooms in your garden!

Life-saver for hands in pain
Size: 5.1 Ounce (Pack of 2)
This is my favorite hand cream. We're in PA and I keep a tube of this by the kitchen sink, in my bedroom, the bathroom, and in my car. I use it all the time and it saves my hands. I discovered it by chance at a store one time and I've tried many products (used to work in Healthcare so was constantly hand-washing). I like O'Keefe's Working Hands all right, and Gold Bond healing hand cream used to be my favorite, but this replaces both. It's so helpful for my 5 year old, too, whose hands get super dry and cracked if we don't keep up with this. It's great stuff. Ever since I discovered it, I haven't been able to find it in stores again. It's always out of stock, so I guess others have figured it out as well!

Holy Grail Moisturizer for Rosacea
Style: Restorative Protective Cream-3.3 Fl Oz
In seeing so many negative reviews I felt compelled to weigh in as this is my favorite moisturizer. I have very dry, menopausal skin. Additionally, I have rosacea which seems to have been a nice gift from said menopause (you can only laugh, right?). It's very common for those of us in our 50's to have a compromised skin barrier and when an issue like rosacea is present, even more so. Because of all this my skin is very intolerant to most moisturizers and nearly all actives (over the last few years I've had to discontinue my retinols and chemical exfoliators). While ingredients like ALA's, petrolatum, mineral oil, parafin/bees wax, and lanolin are well tolerated and known to be quite soothing, they don't hydrate very well as they are more occlusive than moisturizing. Enter this product. Magically, it does both! It's marketed as a protective cream, which again implies occlusive, but it penetrates like no other. Gone is the tight, dry feeling that persisted even when I had a heavy layer of product on my skin (my previous moisturizer was Eucerin Original Healing Cream -- which still has its uses -- because it was the only thing I could put on my skin outside of squalane oil during a flare). Now, no topical can cure rosacea. However, the right product can calm the skin, repair the damaged lipid barrier, and improve its appearance. This moisturizer does just that and it's become my holy grail. Since starting this I've also added in the Cicalfate Serum which has only aided in repairing my skin. Another Avene product that works great for me is the XeraCalm Balm which helps with itching. I use all three of these daily and they've really helped fix the secondary issues that come with rosacea. As for the complaints about it being greasy or too heavy. I can see this not working for people with normal or oily skin (or perhaps only in moderation). But my skin loves the heavier weight and because one of the ways I soothe a flare is to keep a tiny mister bottle on hand and repeatedly spray my face so I have to guard against the drying effects of evaporation. These products are so lipid heavy that I can wet my face all day long without worrying about that, though I do reapply throughout the day. As for the watery consistency issue, I haven't had that problem but it does caution on the packaging not to expose the product to temperatures below 41 degrees F (5 C). I suspect that if it gets too cold either because of the weather or because of whatever warehouse it sat in during transit it will separate. Maybe open the package and before squeezing some out look to see if it has split and then shake it up/message the tube. So, if you have skin like mine don't hesitate to try this product. I'm leaving this absurdly long review for my struggling brothers and sisters out there with rosacea in hopes that it provides some relief! Happy moisturizing, internet strangers. ;)
