The leaves are large and oval, with a marbled pattern of dark and light green, often accented with shades of cream or yellow. This color contrast creates a dynamic and elegant visual effect, bringing a touch of tropical greenery to any indoor space.
Origin: Native to tropical regions of Central and South America.
Growth: Dieffenbachia 'Tropic Marianne' has a moderate to fast growth habit, forming a dense clump with an upright habit. It can reach a medium height indoors, with leaves that develop amply, creating an interesting volume effect.
Flowers: The flowers are small, cream-colored, and rarely appear indoors. They are inconspicuous and are not the plant's main attraction.
Light: This plant prefers bright, indirect light to maintain the vibrancy of its colors. Insufficient light can cause leaf patterns to fade, while direct sunlight can burn the leaves.
Watering: Water regularly, keeping the soil slightly moist but not overwatering. Allow the substrate to dry slightly between waterings to prevent root rot.
Substrate: Use a well-draining potting soil suitable for indoor plants. Good drainage is essential to prevent water from accumulating around the roots.
Toxicity: Dieffenbachia 'Tropic Marianne' is toxic to humans and pets if ingested, and can cause irritation of the mouth, throat, and digestive system. It is advisable to keep this plant out of reach of children and pets.
