Summary: With its massive, elongated leaves and impressive tropical presence, Anthurium ‘Big Bill’ transforms any corner into an indoor rainforest oasis with minimal effort.
✨ Why You'll Love the Anthurium 'Big Bill'
- Extra-large, pendulous leaves for dramatic vertical impact
- Hybrid vigour from A. pendulifolium x cubense parentage
- Ideal as a statement plant in bright living rooms or offices
- Rare collector’s hybrid grown sustainably in Europe
- Height: ~40 cm | Pot size: 20 cm
🌞 Light & Placement
Prefers bright, indirect light to maintain leaf size and health. Tolerates medium light but avoid direct sun to prevent scorching.
💧 Water & Humidity
Keep soil evenly moist but not soggy. Loves high humidity (60–80%), making it perfect for bathrooms with filtered light or grouped with other tropicals. Mist regularly or use a humidifier for best results.
🪴 Soil & Potting
Use a chunky, airy aroid mix containing orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir for excellent drainage. Repot every 1–2 years to encourage robust growth.
🐾 Toxicity & Safety
Toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Keep out of reach from curious cats, dogs, and small children.
🌱 Growth & Propagation
This hybrid produces long, drooping leaves as it matures. Propagate by division or stem cuttings with aerial roots for new plants.
📆 Seasonal & Special Care
Reduce watering slightly in winter but maintain humidity. Wipe leaves gently to keep them dust-free and photosynthesising efficiently.
🐛 Common Issues
- Yellowing leaves: overwatering or poor drainage
- Crispy edges: low humidity
- Pests: check undersides for thrips or spider mites, treat promptly with neem oil or insecticidal soap
