The name Philodendron is derived from the Greek words 'philo' (love) and 'dendron' (tree). This classic plant is one of the most popular houseplants. Besides being easy to care for, the Philodendron is an air-purifying plant.

Origin

De Philodendron Mamei is originally from Ecuador. This Philodendron gets large green leaves, accented by a silver pattern. The deep veins add to the beautiful effect. The petioles have a graceful wavy edge and are reddish with green in color with very subtle white streaks. This unusual decoration is an absolute feast for the eyes!

Growing Style

This is a creeping Philodendron, not a climber. The growth rate and leaf color of Philodendron Mamei can vary greatly depending on substrate, sunlight, temperature and other factors.

Herkomst Philodendron

There are about 400 species of Philodendrons, a member of the arum family (Araceae). First described in 1644, the plant did not receive an official name until 1829. The Philodendron family is a large one, with plants of various shapes, sizes and colors. Philodendrons can be divided into two basic categories: climbing and non-climbing plants. The non-climbing plants are also sometimes found high up in trees in nature. When a seed germinates in the hollow of a high branch, the plant manages to provide itself with sufficient nutrients and water with its roots.

Air purification

The Philodendron is particularly effective at helping purify the air we breathe. To take advantage of its air-purifying properties, place at least one Philodendron on every 10 m² and let it do what it does naturally.

Substrate

Like other Araceae, this Philodendron can be kept as a houseplant. This plant prefers permeable soil that should be kept evenly moist but never wet.

Light and location.

De Philodendron mamei grows best when provided with bright filtered sunlight. As a matter of fact, she handles a lot of shade better than other houseplants. However, you will notice that she will then grow more slowly .

Temperature

Philodendron plants can be kept in an ambient temperature of 15°C - 25°C. Be sure to avoid cold temperatures.

Repot

Philodendrons grow very well in a pot. When doing so, do leave enough room for growth. Remember the looser the roots, the larger and healthier your plant will be. When the plant becomes root-bound, its growth will slow down. At that point, it is time for a larger pot. You can occasionally give the plant diluted fertilizer as nutrition. This will stimulate the growth of the plant.

Hands Down Best on the Market
Scent: Sandalwood, Size: 2 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I have tried pretty much EVERY beard balm known to man at this point and while some have been okay, what makes this the hands down full on winner for me is not just it's effectiveness but it's scent. A sandalwood product that actually smells like REAL sandalwood and not some sweet, vanilla, gross whatever imitation pretty much every other "sandalwood" scented product out there these days smell like. I am so in love with the scent that I wish this were available as a cologne. As far as it's actual effectiveness, that is also five stars. It's effective without too much shine so it doesn't look too greasy. This is one of the only balms I have found that does NOT break me out. I use it for both my beard and my hair. It's an exceptional pomade! It isn't too greasy, it's got good hold. I'm not sure about conditioning quality yet, but it's been single digits temperature here and normally my beard feels very dry and kind of painful, I don't really know how else to describe it, and I haven't been having that problem since starting this product. Another bonus, it's a great barrier against wind/cold burn. I hope they don't stop selling this product because I for one know I would be a customer for life.

The ultimate beard balm
Scent: Sandalwood, Size: 2 Ounce (Pack of 1)
If you’re looking for a balm that actually absorbs into your skin rather than just sitting on top of it, Sandalwood Beach Balm is a game-changer. I’ve been using it consistently, and it’s become the highlight of my daily routine. Why I’m a fan: The Scent Profile: This isn't your typical "coconut and sunscreen" beach smell. It’s a warm, earthy, and creamy sandalwood that feels grounded and high-end. It’s subtle enough to wear all day but rich enough to notice. Deep Hydration: It has a buttery consistency that melts on contact. It’s incredibly effective at soothing dry, "salty" skin after a day outdoors, leaving a healthy glow without the sticky residue. Versatility: I’ve used it as a body moisturizer, a hand balm, and even a tiny bit on the ends of my hair to tame frizz. It works everywhere. Clean Ingredients: You can tell there aren't a bunch of synthetic fillers. It feels "real" on the skin, and a little bit goes a long way, making the jar last much longer than expected. Final Verdict: This is a must-have for your beach bag or your nightstand. It’s the perfect blend of rugged and refined. My skin has never felt softer or smelled better.

Great Beard Balm
Scent: Sandalwood, Size: 2 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I was a little unsure when I opened the canister - I’m used to beard balms being more like lotion. This is solid in the can. However, one scoop with my finger - then rub with my fingers together and apply to my beard (I immediately message into my hair on my head after my beard). Keeps hair soft, conditioned, and just a bit of hold. The Sandlewood scent is just the right amount! Works great and easy to message into my beard.
