Add a burst of color to your indoor jungle with Philodendron ‘Sun Red.’ Fresh leaves emerge blazing red before maturing into lush, deep green—creating a living gradient that evolves over time. Its compact, upright habit makes it perfect for desks, shelves, or as a tabletop focal point.

  • Stunning New Growth: Bright crimson foliage on emerging leaves fades to rich emerald, offering continuous visual interest.
  • Compact & Upright: Reaches 12–18″ tall at maturity, ideal for small spaces and container displays.
  • Easy Care: Thrives in bright, indirect to medium light; water when the top 1″ of soil dries.
  • Durable Aroid: A hardy cultivar that tolerates average home humidity and temperatures from 65–80°F.
  • Straight from the Grower: Ships in a 4″ nursery pot with drainage—ready to style in your favorite decorative planter.

Plant Profile

  • Botanical Name: Philodendron selloum ‘Sun Red’
  • Family: Araceae
  • Origin: Modern cultivar selected for its red juvenile foliage

Care Guide

  • Light: Bright, indirect or medium light; avoid scorching direct sun (old leaves may show light bleaching).
  • Water: Keep soil evenly moist but never waterlogged—allow the top inch to dry between waterings.
  • Humidity: Adapts to normal home levels; benefits from occasional misting.
  • Temperature: Best in 65–80°F (18–27°C); protect from drafts and dips below 60°F.
  • Soil: Use a well-draining aroid or houseplant mix with perlite or orchid bark.
  • Feeding: Apply a balanced liquid fertilizer monthly during spring and summer.
  • Propagation: Easily propagated via stem cuttings with aerial roots or nodes.
  • Toxicity: Toxic if ingested—keep out of reach of pets and children.

Note: Slight sun bleaching on older leaves can occur if exposed to stronger light—this is normal and does not harm the plant.

Dragons
Format: Paperback
I can only say WOWS again—Casey Grimes wasn’t in this but others from the previous book where. Can’t wait to read the next book—will there be dragons in it—the previous books keep mentioning dragons and this book was excellent—I am going to hate when I run out of this series

Kansas City Dragon Business
Format: Paperback, Format: Paperback
This novel reveals a little-known part of Kansas City’s past—in the 1930s it was running a brisk dragon hatching, renting and sales business! Fast forward 80 or 90 years after the operation was shut down by the city—and be amazed! A suburban family with four boys moves into a 100-year old house in Crossroads of KC and into the adventure of their lives. Add a talking lizard and a trash-talking wizard out of the past, and you have a tale funny, terrifying, and thought-provoking all at once. I hope to see this in every bookstore window in Kansas City!
