Mimosa pudica, commonly known as the Sensitive Plant or Touch-Me-Not, is a fascinating and unique perennial herb that hails from Central and South America but has become naturalized in many tropical and subtropical regions worldwide. This plant is celebrated for its intriguing behavioral adaptation, as its compound leaves are highly sensitive to touch or mechanical stimulation. When touched, the leaflets of the Mimosa pudica fold inward and droop, a response thought to be a defense mechanism against herbivores. The leaves are pinnately compound, with a feathery appearance, and they usually have a pale green color. Mimosa pudica produces small, globe-shaped, pink or lavender flowers that emerge from fluffy, ball-like clusters. Beyond its captivating sensitivity, it has a reputation for its medicinal properties in traditional medicine, being used for its purported anti-inflammatory and analgesic qualities. Additionally, it is often cultivated as an ornamental plant and is enjoyed as a novelty in gardens and educational settings due to its distinctive behavior.  Zones 9-11

Germination

Germinating Mimosa pudica seeds can be a rewarding and educational experience. Start by scarifying the seeds to help break their hard seed coat, enhancing germination. You can scarify them by gently rubbing them with sandpaper or nicking them with a knife. Next, soak the scarified seeds in warm water for about 24 hours to further soften the seed coat. Prepare a seed tray or pots filled with a well-draining potting mix, which may contain a combination of peat moss, perlite, or vermiculite. Plant the treated seeds about 1/4 inch deep in the soil, spacing them apart. Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged, as Mimosa pudica seeds are sensitive to excessive moisture. Place the seed tray or pots in a warm, well-lit location, such as a greenhouse or a sunny windowsill. Germination can be variable and may take several weeks to a few months. Once the seedlings have developed a few sets of true leaves, you can transplant them into individual pots or your garden. Enjoy observing the fascinating leaf-folding response as your Mimosa pudica plants grow.

Perfect thickness and soft feel.
Size: 6-10, Color: Halo Gray/Assorted
Why did you pick this product vs others?: Love theses socks.  It's hard to find socks which won't get pulled down by athletic shoes.  These stay put.

Comfy, great quality
Size: 6-10, Color: White
I’ve had these for quite a while now. They are holding up very well as i wear them a lot for work (coaching). They are very cushiony and most importantly, they do not slip! I would compare these to Bombas but at a significantly better price point.

My favorite socks now!
Size: Medium, Color: Deep Sea/Breaker Blue/Electro Pink
I love socks! And these are quickly becoming my favorites! They do not slide down into your shoe no matter if you are working out or just wearing them for normal everyday use. The price is a little higher than I would normally pay for 3 pair of socks, but after wearing these for a few weeks, I think the quality and comfortability of these socks is well worth the money.
