In the first year, perennials will establish foliage and roots that overwinter; they will start to bloom in in the second or third year, and will return for years to come. Look for a colorful mix of blue, red, yellow, pink, purple, and white blooms that will attract bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and other pollinators. When establishing deer resistant wildflowers, we recommend protecting seedlings and young plants with fencing or spray, so they have time to mature and establish their natural defenses.
