Tillandsia Funkiana No. 1 has a medium green foliage with leaves that lay flatter and smoother. Funkiana are native to Venezuela and grow long as opposed to wide. The typical adult size for a Funkiana is 4 to 8 inches long and up to 1 ½ inches wide depending on which form it is.

Funkiana are an unusual type of air plant that has a fitting name. Sometimes they grow in a haphazard sort of way with twists and turns and almost curls. If left alone to mother and when the pups are left in place they will form beautiful clusters. See the last listing picture for what a cluster looks like.

These plants are low maintenance, making them a great choice for people who are new to indoor plants.

They need regular daily indirect or filtered sunlight (so fine for desks, shelves, bathrooms or bedrooms). A weekly water is all they require - although you can always give them a mist in between if they look a little dry.

Air plants prefer regular air circulation, so we suggest open terrariums rather than the kind with lids.
