30" Rectangular Span Aluminum Planter

The 30" Rectangular Span Planter is a streamlined solution for defining boundaries and adding structured greenery to any environment. With its elongated profile and minimalist design, this planter serves as a high-end architectural tool for creating natural partitions in lobbies, offices, and outdoor terraces.

Customizable Drainage Options

Designed as a watertight vessel, the Span Planter offers total flexibility for indoor placement, ensuring floors and delicate surfaces remain protected. For permanent outdoor installations, drainage holes can be easily drilled using a standard metal drill bit, allowing for direct planting and proper moisture management in exposed environments.

Engineered Excellence

Crafted from high-grade brushed aluminum, the Span Planter features seamless welding for a flawless, modern finish. The interior is treated with a waterproof epoxy lining, enhancing its durability and ensuring long-term performance. Lightweight and frost-resistant, it is built to maintain its structural integrity in any professional setting.

Why Choose Aluminum for Architectural and Commercial Spaces?

Aluminum is the preferred material for professional installations due to its specific performance advantages:

  • High Strength-to-Weight Ratio: This 30" trough is significantly lighter than stone or concrete, making it easy to move and install while remaining structurally rigid.

  • Natural Corrosion Resistance: Aluminum resists rust naturally. It remains unaffected by moisture, making it ideal for high-traffic outdoor areas.

  • Structural Stability: Aluminum does not warp or crack like wood or plastic. It maintains sharp, clean rectangular lines even in extreme temperature fluctuations.

  • Ease of Customization: Unlike fiberglass or stone, aluminum can be easily modified on-site—such as drilling drainage holes—without compromising the material's integrity.

Placement & Plant Suggestions

Indoor Placements

  • Reception Counter: The 30" length provides a professional buffer without obstructing sightlines.

  • Window Ledges: The 12" width fits most deep ledges, creating a living curtain for natural privacy.

  • Office Zoning: Use multiple units atop low cabinets to define work zones while maintaining an open feel.

Outdoor Placements

  • Rooftop Terraces: Being lightweight, these are ideal for weight-restricted balconies and rooftop decks.

  • Entrance Framing: Use a pair of Span planters to flank a doorway or walkway, creating a crisp, geometric entrance.

  • Patio Dividers: Align several planters to create a "low wall" that defines outdoor dining or seating areas.

  • Poolside Accents: The corrosion-resistant aluminum is ideal for poolside environments, as it will not rust from moisture exposure.

Recommended Plant Pairings

  • Snake Plants (Sansevieria): Their vertical growth complements the modern lines; perfect for indoor privacy.

  • Ornamental Grasses (e.g., Blue Fescue): Excellent for outdoor movement and texture against the smooth metal.

  • Low Boxwood Hedge: For a formal outdoor look, three small boxwoods create a clean geometric silhouette.

  • Agave or Succulents: These thrive in low-water environments and offer a high-end, low-maintenance aesthetic.

Also available with raised base for indoor use.

Madeira Large Rectangle is just one style from the Madeira Metal Planter Collection. You can add coordinating shapes to your collection.

Un-Putdown-Able
Format: Kindle
Wonderful book! It’s intriguing, heartfelt and funny as hell. There may be a few loose ends they are too easily wrapped up but honestly, it doesn’t detract from the overall impact of the book. I have to say that the story is enhanced by the Audible version, which is something I rarely say because I usually need to see the words in print. But the two readers of the book are superb and add a lot of depth to the characters. Honestly, if there’s a movie made of this book, I will probably be disappointed in the actors who portray the characters of Birdie and Meg because they won’t be as good as Jenna Lamia and January Lavoy who narrated this book for Audible.

Trying times in Oxford Mississippi in 1933
Format: Kindle
The Calamity Club features a cast of strong women and several weak men. The official charitable women are not charitable and the unofficial ones are courageous and are filled with good will. Stockett weaves a long tale of poverty, desperation, determination and sisterly love. Only two sets of sisters are blood related but those who are not, bond by working together for a common purpose. Stockett serves up humor and pathos in equal measure with a dash or two of realism. Her character development makes The Calamity Club well worth reading Like The Help, a screenplay should be forthcoming.

So Good!
Format: Hardcover
Some parts of this are reminiscent of The Help, but it is a brand new story. Even though it appears to be a LONG book (650 pages), it goes fast and is hard to put down. The story takes place in Mississippi in the 1930's. 24 year old Birdie travels to see her married sister in Oxford for the purpose of getting some financial help for her family. Her sister Frances married into a seemingly wealthy family, which for reasons that soon become clear, has now fallen on hard times. Eleven year old Meg lives in an orphanage and is treated badly by the volunteers that staff it. If her mom isn't going to come back and get her, then she wants to be adopted as soon as possible, but most people want babies, not older children. Charlie turns up at the house where Birdie is staying with her sister's family. She's bright and helpful, but what's her real story? How are they all connected? This story is at times hilarious and at other times heartbreaking. It has its share of villains, but most of the characters are likeable and you want them to succeed. Just HOW they succeed is the heart of the book, and I won't tell you and spoil the surprise. This is well worth reading, though, and I strongly recommend it.

Outstanding book
Format: Kindle
I loved this book so much that I'm sad that I've finished it. The story is fascinating, the characters well developed and the themes were important and heart wrenching. This is definitely one of the best books I ever read. I can't summarize the story without spoilers and I would not want to deny you the opportunity to enjoy the unfolding of this beautiful story. This is a book I will not forget and I look forward to Kathryn Society's next wonderful book. She is a tremendous author. Thank you Kathryn for the gift of this book!

Worth the Wait
Format: Kindle
Kathryn Stockett's The Calamity Club is well worth the wait, just as good or even better than The Help. This historical novel has all the literary ingredients to be added to the classics. This book is both engaging and horrifying since it reveals the cruel beliefs in Mississippi's past and explains the rigid mind-set of contemporary politics and culture. I was incensed by the ignorance and lack of empathy. However, as throughout history, the theme of women helping other women gave the story conflict, suspense, and lots of humor. The characters and plot are so engaging I would like a follow-up story, maybe a part two. I am ready for a movie version, if Meg and Birdie are well cast. The Calamity Club was worth the wait!
