Planting Time
Plant tulip bulbs in the fall, 6-8 weeks before the first frost, to ensure proper root development.
Soil Requirements
Choose well-draining soil with a neutral to slightly acidic pH (6.0-7.0). Amend soil with compost for better fertility.
Planting Depth & Spacing
Plant bulbs 6-8 inches deep and 4-6 inches apart for healthy growth and optimal blooming.
Sunlight
Tulips thrive in full sun but tolerate partial shade. Aim for at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily.
Watering
Water thoroughly after planting. During the growing season, keep soil moist but avoid waterlogging to prevent bulb rot.
Care & Maintenance
Remove spent flowers to encourage bulb energy storage. Allow foliage to die back naturally before removal.
Harvest & Bloom Time
Tulips typically bloom in spring (April to May). Cut flowers can be enjoyed indoors as well.
