DESCRIPTION: Tillandsia Bulbosa can be found in a variety of areas, including Mexico, Central America, and Brazil. The form we have wired up is the Brazilian form, which tends to be on the smaller side, but they are known for the pupping tendencies, forming colonies of over a dozen plants in one clump. They are commonly found at sea level, but have been seen at elevations of up to 1,300 meters. This wild air plant is similar in style to Caput Medusae and Butzii, but what makes Bulbosa special is its exaggerated bulbous base and firmly "waving" leaves. Bulbosa enjoy lower light levels and more frequent waterings than some of the more xeric air plants (IE xerographica).
