Elongated peppers grow to four to six inches long, and ripen to a deep, almost burgundy-red. Plants can reach four feet in height, and may benefit from staking. This wonderful variety is listed in the Slow Food Ark of Taste, but is in danger of disappearing in its homeland due to prolonged conflict in the region and the effects of climate change.
