The ZZ Plant (Zamioculcas zamiifolia) is one of the toughest and most low-maintenance houseplants available, making it a favorite for busy plant parents, frequent travelers, and office spaces. Native to East Africa, this plant features glossy, deep green leaves and thrives in a wide range of indoor conditions—even with minimal attention. Known for its air-purifying qualities, the ZZ Plant helps support a cleaner indoor environment while requiring very little care.
Plant Origin
Native to East Africa.
Sunlight Requirements
Prefers bright indirect light but adapts well to medium and low light conditions. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
Watering Requirements
Water every 2–3 weeks, allowing the top 2–3 inches of soil to dry out between waterings. ZZ Plants store water in their roots, so overwatering is the most common issue.
Is This Plant Pet-Friendly?
No, this plant is mildly toxic to pets if ingested and should be kept out of reach of cats and dogs.
