Hoya latifolia 'Pot of Gold' is a spectacular and sought-after houseplant, prized for its large, thick leaves beautifully variegated with golden yellow in the center. Its striking and luminous foliage makes it an ideal show plant for modern and bright interiors.

Origin: This species is native to Southeast Asia, where it grows as an epiphyte in warm, humid tropical forests. The 'Pot of Gold' cultivar is selected for its bright yellow central variegation.

Growth: Moderate growth. It develops long, thick stems that can be trained or left to trail. The leaves are broad, leathery, and glossy, dark green edged with a lighter green, with a distinctive golden-yellow center.

Flowers: Highly decorative and fragrant blooms on mature plants. It produces umbels of star-shaped, waxy flowers, generally cream to pink with a darker center, emitting a sweet fragrance. The flower stalks are persistent and should not be removed.

Light: Prefers bright but indirect light. Excellent light is essential to maintain intense variegation and promote flowering. Tolerates some gentle sun.

Watering: Water moderately. Allow the potting mix to partially dry out between waterings. It tolerates a slight lack of water better than an excess, which can cause root rot. Reduce watering slightly when growth slows.

Substrate: Use a very well-draining potting mix for houseplants. A mixture enriched with perlite or coconut fiber ensures excellent root aeration, suitable for its epiphytic growth habit.

Toxicity: Non-toxic to humans and animals.

Horrendous, Even for a Required Textbook
Format: Paperback
Normally reviews aren't necessary for school textbooks. They're required. You're buying this whether you want to or not. However, I feel I need to take a moment and record how awful this book is. It's sexist, unhelpful, and is written as if the authors are talking down to a reader. You can't even complete the exercises after reading the chapters, and the book provides no answers if you were to try. I learned nothing from this text, except that women are smart and healthy and men are sick and stupid. These are stereotypes texts can easily avoid. Instead, this text sought out those stereotypes, going out of its way to reinforce them. Textbooks should put readers to sleep at worst, not actively insult them. And to be clear, this isn't about the fact that women live longer. This complaint concerns that every single example in the text that concerns a sickly individual uses a male pronoun, and every example in the text that concerns a healthy individual uses a female pronoun. The sexism grows from there. Textbooks have to try to be this poor. In that regard, and that regard alone, this one succeeded. If you're about to take a class that requires this textbook, reconsider your life trajectory. Something is going wrong. Also, and this is petty, but the comics made for this textbook are probably the worst I've ever seen. The art is so poor it's not even funny. My dog could do better.

Helpful and to the point.
Format: Paperback
As an undergrad psych student, It's a helpful little book! It essentially has everything the full DSM-5 has but skips all the word foreplay and gets right to the point.
