ABOUT OUR DRACAENA MARGINATA

Justin the Dracaena marginata here. I know I look a bit spiky but there’s a reason for that: I’ve got dragon blood in me! Ok, ok: not really. But, I am known as the dragon plant, spike dracaena and dragon blood tree because of my strange ability to ooze red “blood” if you slice into my trunk. Don’t do it though - I do much prefer being left in one piece.

If you’re seeking an exotic but hardy houseplant, I’m the ideal fit. In my natural habitat, I can grow in a dry climate and will even endure periods of drought. Is it any surprise that I’m very popular in office buildings and forgotten parts of your home?

My tropical look can be enjoyed anywhere providing there isn’t any direct sunlight. I’m usually advertised as a low-light tolerant plant, but I do prefer a brighter, indirect light - you’ll see me grow as big as a dragon (well, not quite) in a better lit room.

Medium height (including nursery pot) 75cm; pot diameter 17cm. (Fits a 18-22cm pot)

DID YOU KNOW?

The word Dracaena means “dragon” in Ancient Greek, although Justin is also known as the Madagascar dragon tree because you can find him all over Mauritius and Madagascar.

Justin’s vibrant foliage is a sure way to add the tropical vibes to your life without having to fly to a desert island.

QUICK DRACAENA MARGINATA PLANT CARE

Hardy in nature (he is a dragon, after all), Justin will survive most things - even if you do forget about him for a few weeks.

LIGHTING

I grow faster in a well-lit room but can also adapt to medium or low light.

WATERING

I prefer my soil on the drier side. Water me once every few weeks in the summer and even less in the winter months.

HUMIDITY

I can tolerate normal household humidity - the occasional mist to my leaves wouldn’t go a miss though.

FERTILISER

Fertilise me only once or twice in the growing season, March through September. Don’t fertilise me in the winter months!

THINGS WE ALWAYS GET ASKED

How do you care for a Dracaena marginata?

Taking care of a Dracaena Marginata plant is very easy. Justin will be happiest in a partially shady room with warm temperatures of over 15°C. Allow his soil to dry out in between each watering; the best way to tell if he needs a drink is to feel the first two inches of the soil and only water if the soil is bone dry. He will tolerate a room with small windows or a landing with little natural light, so feel free to put him where other plants haven’t fared well - he’s a hardy guy, after all.

Does the dragon plant need much light?

All plants need some natural light to grow but Justin will tolerate lower levels of light than most plants - although yes, he does need some natural light. Chuck him in a room with a north facing window that doesn’t get much daylight and you won’t hear a peep from him. Well, you know what we mean!

Is the Dracaena marginata an indoor plant?

Yes, Justin is definitely an indoor plant, as he loves filtered light and warm temperatures. Some types of Dracaena can grow outdoors in the summer, but only in a partially shady garden - and they definitely need bringing in during the winter. You’ll also find that having Justin indoors will help clean your air as he - quite magically - can absorb common household toxins, thus helping you breathe that little bit easier.

PLANT STYLING TIPS

This potted dragon tree looks pretty similar to a palm, so be sure to put him where his tropical fronds can be appreciated the most. Placing him in an entrance hall or on a landing is sure to bring an exotic atmosphere to an otherwise boring part of the home.

Use our healing crystal and grounding candle for a sleek and stylish addition to your home that’s guaranteed to complement Justin’s exotic foliage.

I’m a little disappointed.
Format: Kindle
I usually like Jillian West’s books but this one was missing a lot for me. The pregnancy didn’t come across as real. She’s on her feet for 12 hour days but is perfectly healthy at 8 months pregnant? Yet the week she moves in all of a sudden she’s not? She is planning on actually running during one of the plot buildups. But at 8 months pregnant that’s incredibly hard to do. The lack of breathing ability and lung space, the change in body center, mass, and gravity. All of it prohibits running, unless you’re an athlete this didn’t come off as at all realistic. I didn’t feel any connection with the alphas. There wasn’t any emotional connection. It could be because of the tense it was written in. But I didn’t get any deep feelings out of this. It came across as checking off boxes. Even the spicy scenes weren’t really believable for me. I wanted to see them fall for her, and it just kind of all fizzled. Even Bishop. One thing I did really like was the ending. I did not see it coming and I’m interested in reading book two because of it. But on the whole this book was mostly disappointing for me.

4.25 stars
Format: Kindle
Vale is an 8 month pregnant omega working as a waitress at a strip club and a cam girl. She starts to get very creepy vibes from a regular at the club, and her baby daddy ghosted her. She has had an online relationship with a man named Bishop through her cam girl status. One night, bishop was paying to watch her sleep and ansthe creepy regular Andrew break in and watch her sleep he tells vale to come to him at his business now. She flees and finds herself at a large security company with some.hot of alphas who are there to help her. This imegaverse is a little different than I have read, but I am thoroughly enjoying it. Vale is not a traditional omega she was raised by a single beta mom, and the alphas are not normal alphas they have never really loved pack life. But they are ruthless mercenaries. They need her, and she needs them. I love the aspect of the stalker and now the plot twists at the end, so so good. Sometimes, it seemed a little slow and stale mated, but since this a duet, I think It was just her starting to have Vale get to know her alpha suitors. Cliffhanger for sure with this one.

That ending 😫
Format: Kindle
I fell into a false sense of security and really thought this was gearing towards a happy ending. Then I realized there’s no work they don’t punish Andrew. I really liked Vale’s character. I don’t normally read books with pregnancy but going into this knowing she was pregnant made it more enjoyable for me. I loved Bishops devotion to her and her happiness. I also loved that Holt and Mercy couldn’t fight their attraction to her. I love scent matches so very much. I’m so curious to see how this duet will end up. And I need to pay more attention and notice that a book I’m starting is a duet to begin with lol

oh wow
Format: Kindle
I just knew there was something about Cooper! I’m wondering if he’s about to be included but damn I’m glad he’s at least not a rapist and creepy guy, he just got called on assignment and had to go! This should be interesting! She’s gonna run and then what’s his face is gonna grab her. I’m worried! Wow that was a great book and cliffhanger! Loving this!

Good start to a series
Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5
