Exposure & location
The Sansevieria Zeylanica adapts to almost all light conditions — from full sun to pronounced partial shade. It is one of the few plants to maintain its marbled patterns even in low-light rooms.
- Exposure: bright light to partial shade — tolerates low light, avoid total darkness.
- Ideal for: living room, entrance, bedroom, office, dimly lit hallway.
- Temperature: 15 to 28 °C, no cold drafts.
- Substrate: light and very well-draining — cactus soil with sand or perlite.
Watering & care
- Watering: low — every 2 to 3 weeks in spring-summer, let the substrate dry completely between waterings. Our finger test is the most reliable method for this type of plant.
- Drainage: essential — pot with drainage holes, very well-draining substrate, never let water stagnate in the saucer.
- Fertilizer: once a month in spring and summer, mild fertilizer for green plants in light doses.
- Cleaning: wipe leaves with a damp cloth to preserve the shine of the marbled patterns.
- Repotting: only every 3 to 4 years — it likes to be a bit cramped.
