Monstera Peru Care (Karstenianum)

Are you looking to add a gorgeous Monstera Peru to your tropical houseplant collection? It's not like most monstera's, and knowing how to keep it happy will let your Peru grow for years to come.

Follow our care guide below, and let's grow something great together.

Monstera Peru Sun Light Requirements

Monstera Peru's grow fast and healthy in bright, indirect light. It's recommended to place the Monstera near a north-facing window, or in a filtered window that doesn't face north

Its deep green leaves means it can soak up the sun's rays quicker than other plants, so direct light will do more harm than good.

How much water for a Monstera Peru

If you tend to forget to water every now and then, this is the plant for you! It's thick leaves store water, so adding too much water on a frequent basis will drown it.

Once a week, or every two weeks is common. Remember, the more sun your plant gets the more water it will need. Brighter rooms will mean a higher watering frequency, and darker rooms means less watering.

What are people saying about the Monstera Peru?

The vibrant glossy and green leaves feel leathery to your touch. They also have a gorgeous deep green veining on the leaves.

Kristi C. says

I love the Monstera Peru leaves. They are a deep green, and the leaves are thick, and have a dragon-scale texture to them. I finally found one after a long search!

Jeff E. says

It just looks great on my table. It doesn't need much light or care, so this houseplant totally suits me lol

Jennifer S. says

I got a Monstera Peru as a gift and love it. People ask me about it all the time and winder what it is. The leaves are what they mainly ask about. Their texture is so beautiful.

Great for SuperChewers. Keeps my Golden busy.
Color: Bear, Color: Bear
My dog loves it and it keeps her busy for a while. She actually pulls it out of her toy basket and brings it to me when she wants it filled. I break her treats into some pieces that are easy to get and some a little harder. This way she doesn’t get them too fast or loose interest if they’re harder to get. Also, she’s had it for 3 months and there’s barely a mark on it and she’s still a puppy that chews her toys to pieces.

Mostly happy
Color: Grape
Have a 1 1/2 yr old Belgian Malinois who needs things to do. I bought these and he loved it. Bad thing, it took him 1 day to chew the rope off both grape and pineapple. The stems on the cherry were also chewed off. The rest of the toy is intact and he still loves it.

Came apart.
Color: Cherries
We were playing with it and the green part pulled off of the red part. I'm pretty sure that is not supposed to happen. I took the green part away from the dog because that part is too small for my pup to play with. But we continue to play with the red part. My dog likes the texture and the bounciness.
