Ficus benjamina produce a latex sap that can cause allergic reactions for people who have latex allergies. F. benjamina is a forgiving species, tolerating poor growing conditions well, making them excellent plants for beginners and are hardy to zones 10-12.
Plant the seeds ¼” deep in a well draining potting soil. Keep the soil moist, but not soaking wet and keep between 70°F to 80°F for best results. Germination typically takes between 15 and 95 days. Even with optimal germination conditions, germination may be slow and sporadic.
